Poll: McDaniel Opens 12-Point Lead Over Cochran

BILOXI, Mississippi -- A new poll shows conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel with a commanding 12-point lead the runoff election in Mississippi’s GOP primary over six-term incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS).

The Citizens United Political Victory Fund poll, conducted by Kellyanne Conway of The Polling Company, Inc., shows McDaniel has a 52 percent to 40 percent lead over Cochran.

In a memo, pollster Conway noted too that McDaniel has an “intensity advantage” as 47 percent of his supporters say they are “definite” supporters whereas only 37 percent of Cochran’s say as much.

“With eight days to go before the run-off election in Mississippi, this poll shows that the momentum is with conservative challenger Chris McDaniel,” Citizens United president David Bossie told Breitbart News. “It is clear that Mississippians want a fresh voice in the U.S. Senate.”

Citizens United Political Victory Fund has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars backing McDaniel in Mississippi.

Palin or Cruz. In that order. But I am good with ...any... conservative that can hit the 80% threshold and not spaz on the big issues.

So ... Karl and Mitch ... will you now end this mockery of a campaign and get behind McDaniel for the general?!

For the sake of Party UNITY ... and all ...

Go home, thad!

The problem with that is so many Washington politicians haven't been 'home' in years/decades, so they would get lost trying to find their home towns.

Every election, we find out about more politicians who actually reside in or around Washington, DC. Some of them even have voter registrations there, rather than their home states.

Helms was an exceptional rarity, someone who never forgot why he was sent to Washington. Almost everyone else does, especially after about 6 years.

this one is effectively over

It's a mistake to get overconfident. New voters to the McDaniels side are less likely to go to the polls if they think it can be won without them. McDaniels is up against the establishment. He and his team can't afford mistakes.

What's appalling is the RINO ptb aren't having Cocharan withdraw. Is it really that improtant to them to keep constitutional conservatives out of DC at all costs?

I’m not trying to project an aura of overconfidence. I NEVER miss an election. But I do think it safe to say Cochran is toast. Every time he speaks, he makes a gaffe which clearly indicates how out of touch he is. I’m almost starting to feel sorry for him.

“Six term incumbent. Have people no shame?”

36 years? That’s quite enough.

I did donate a small amount to McDaniel. Our family just returned after spending four days in Pass Christian. Even though we are not from there, we encouraged everyone we met at the restaurants, grocery store, etc. to vote for McDaniel. Just amazed me how few people we spoke with even voted in the first election. We knew more about their politics than did they.

Excellent ... My local elections this year aren’t very interesting, so I’m looking ‘out of state’ for opportunities to stick it to the GOPe and the democrats.

Color me a little bit skeptical. This should be treated as an internal poll for McDaniel than an accurate snapshot of the race.

Always look at the pollster for bias first. This poll is basically commissioned by Citizens United, which has spent thousands on McDaniel.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope that McDaniel cleans the clock with Cochran, but I wouldn’t get over confident. Turnout is key.

The polling in MS has been very accurate thus far.

Just before primary day, the polls had the race tighter than a bullfrog’s behind.

And that’s precisely how it turned out.

Goodbye, Thud. (I hope.)

Thud has started ratcheting up the scorched-earth, personal-not-policy attacks now. I hope that has the same effect as occurred in the Texas primary for governor: E-GOP loser got whipped.

What Bloomberg, who is so smart in business, is too stupid to figure out is that his donations HURT the recipients. It ends up on the news and in the opponents’ campaign ads: NYC TYCOON GIVES ZILLIONS TO THUD CAMPAIGN.
