Joe Carr Gaining Endorsements And Momentum Against Lamar Alexander
Breitbart ^ | 16 Jun 2014 | by TONY LEE

After Dave Brat's stunning upset over House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) last week, Joe Carr, a Tennessee state representative who is challenging moderate Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) in an August 7th primary, is seeing signs of momentum.

Seven more Tennessee state representatives endorsed Carr on Monday, a week after Laura Ingraham, who helped propel Brat to his victory, praised Carr on her radio show. Middle Tennessee Representatives Sheila Butt (R-Columbia), Judd Matheny (R-Tullahoma), Mark Pody (R-Lebanon), Courtney Rogers (R-Goodlettsville), Mike Sparks (R-Smyrna), Billy Spivey (R-Lewisburg), and Rick Womick (R-Rockvale) said Carr could repeat the successes of Brat and Mississippi Sen. Chris McDaniel, who took incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) to a runoff. Recent polling shows McDaniel leading Cochran by eight points.

On behalf of the group, Matheny, who is also chairs a committee in the state legislature, said that Alexander's vote to "support and confirm the person hand-picked by President Obama to implement Obamacare shows us just how out-of-touch he has become."

Alexander has to go. I am praying that he gets fired.

Time for moderate Lamar to pull out the old gimmicky red flannel shirt and start walking across the state. There might be enough clueless people to keep Lamar in Washington.

Is this the same Lamar Alexander who already was a silly old RINO fart when I was a boy during the Spanish-American War?

I remember him well. Sort of a 1949 Grand Ole Opry sort of dude. How old is he now? 128? !30?

With the right person, it could be a red blooded American :)

We have too many out of touch liberal men and women who are

representing us who pretend to put American first.

Actually we have 7 or 9 cluttering the ballot. Carr has over 60 percent name recognition though. That is important

yes, but being in ca, i’m hearing about him over the others.

compare to cruz’s victory in tx. he had lots of competition, too, but he rose above them being an excellent candidate.

that is *equivalent* to being the main challenger.

that also suggests to me that carr is a good candidiate.

Close, about 74. He’s been running for office now for 40 years, 2 fewer years than Thad Cochran.

Don’t know about Sarah, but Cruz seems to be holding true to his statement that he would not endorse anyone in a GOP Primary race involving an incumbent. He will endorse after the Primary selects a nominee.

You can count on it. It’s hard to beat an entrenched incumbent with a long-time familiar name.
