HOUSTON, Texas—Activist Texans are petitioning Texas Governor Rick Perry to call a special session of the Legislature to deal with the growing crisis on the Texas border with Mexico. The petition asks Gov. Perry to bring the Texas Legislature back into a forth special session to “develop and fund a border and port security plan utilizing state and local law enforcement.”...

I’ve been thinking that from start. If I was a Governor I would call NG to borders and stop this. Obama need to be STOPPED NOW! US Laws mean nothing to him….period.

By the Constitution of the USA, the governor should declare an invasion and that all Texas resources are directed to repel it until the Federal government in actuality repels it.

Someone had better do SOMETHING and fast. We are right on the brink.

It is constitutional for him to repel an invasion.

Obama will say he’s doing something but it won’t be reality.

Perry should insist on reality, and that he’ll keep up as governor until a REAL stoppage of invasion is brought about.

Well, -12 percent now could be +2 on November 4 if Abbott runs a weak campaign. Let’s hope he will take her seriously even if he doesn’t really need to do so.

Hopefully the GOP will turn out with all the positions to be voted on;
Senator, Representatives, Statewide offices, Legislative districts, etc.

Knowing all of this is one thing. And be sure that EVERY Governor knows that they have similar if not identical powers.

Actually DOING it is another thing entirely.

They’re worried about the optics. Calling out the Guard to stop children... and there’s CNN... “The SOLDIERS are ARRESTING these poor, unfortunate CHILDREN!!! The Republican Governor has sent SOLDIERS TO ARREST CHILDREN!!!”

You can see how the narrative will go from there.

For the record, I agree. Send in the Guard, seal the border, and stop/detain/deport anyone coming across illegally.

And arrest the agents of ANY agency that facilitates, aids, or otherwise helps this to continue.

But again... good luck with that.

Yes, it’s mostly barking at the moon, BUT I can see Sheriff Joe Arpaio loading up a train of buses from his encampments and dumping them off at the White House.

The point is to make a visual impact. I laud your petition idea, but we know it just gets drawered and filed.

Excellent idea!

Here's something we FReepers can do, MELT PERRY'S PHONES DOWN. They don't have to know if you're not from Texas. Perry needs to do the right thing, and he needs to hear from us on this. Maybe it will give Brewer the fortitude, the guts to do the very same. I understand that Brewer's office is filing a lawsuit against oboma, warning oboma to cease & desist sending these illegals from South America to her state..it is against the law, etc. If you have state militias and laws are being broken, use them for the purpose for which they were created. Are these two Governors really going to take a stand?

Melt Perry's phone lines:

Ask Gov. Perry to bring the Texas Legislature back into a forth special session to “develop and fund a border and port security plan utilizing state and local law enforcement".... as in, calling up the TX Rangers and/or the TX National Guard...to stop 0's orchestrated invasion.

Don’t arrest, don’t detain, just prohibit entry.

I like the optics of an American protecting American children.

Having the governor make a yes/no call on this is far more preferable than calling for a special legislative session, which is THEATER. I’m not interested in theater, only where people stand & what they will do to protect my country.

A special session is a waste of time.

Texas Governor has all the authority he needs - the Texas Constitution.

Melt his phone lines and remind him of this.

Don’t waste time jawboning to implement some future plan. The gov can and should ACT NOW.

EXACTLY! This article and our melting the phones of Perry's & Brewer's offices, needs to be FR PINGED, FR SIDEBARRED, FACEBOOKED, EMAILED, TWEETED, TEXTED. The invasion of these illegals from South America must be stopped. Our facilities in this country will be overwhelmed, our culture squashed. Our country will become a third world country.

We citizens will be treated like third world occupiers, while the illegal invaders will be bumped up to first class. And, of course, these illegals will vote for socialists/communists/marxists/muzzie collaborators in our White House, who made this uptopia possible.

We must stop this invasion NOW, and rally Governors who can do something about this by law regarding the use of state militias. MELT PERRY'S AND BREWER'S PHONES NOW AND TELL THEM TO EXERCISE THEIR RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW, AND USE THE STATE MILITIAS TO STOP THIS INVASION.

“...I like the optics of an American protecting American children....”

Well, yeah that’s the optic you and I BOTH like.

However, with this media the way it is, Pravda and Izvestia rolled into one and in the Sock Puppet’s pocket, that’s NOT the optic you’ll get.

“...Don’t arrest, don’t detain, just prohibit entry....”

They’re already here. Detain and deport, AND prohibit entry.

But we’re on the same page. Your outrage and mine are running parallel, friend...

I try to encourage others not to lose faith. If we’re discouraged, if we’re not confident, strong, and energized here on FR, we can’t expect to prevail when engaging the DUmmies.

Now let’s go out there and win one for the Gipper!

Thanks for noticing my post. I figured it was a no-brainer since these “petitions” are pretty meaningless gestures.

Well, he’s (Perry) certainly called up the Texas Ranger’s, before, to the border. Why the heck not now?

We’re being invaded...and NOTHING is being done to stop it.

His staffer said that he’s considering what to do....hmmmm....sounds familiar.

If states don’t act NOW then fedgov will be distributing 10’s or even 100’s of thousands of illegal aliens all over the country and showering them with handouts. At the rate they’re moving it will be a fait accompli before they actually do anything - they need to act now and with vigor.

The phone lines are not melting in the TEXAS Governor’s office at the moment, and neither this story nor the petition is breaking through as far as I have noticed.

Black out, everywhere.

A dear, meek little thing in the governor’s office said “they” are looking into what can be done; the governor was on FOX and FRIENDS this morning but she didn’t know if he mentioned it ( the Texas border invasion);said it is a federal responsibility and they aren’t doing anything!

What do you do with that? This means TEXAS leaders want to USE this as a political hammer, but do NOT want to act.

My meek response was that; Perry staying out of sight looks like Obama’s own intentional evasiveness, while Texas burns; that invasion by foreigners overwhelming our system trumps deriliction of duty by the feds to defend and protect; that he needs to high tail it for home and speak and act like at least a mildly interested party.

Can governors be impeached for deriliction of duty? I am ready.
