TORONTO (AP) Canada's government on Tuesday approved a controversial pipeline proposal that would bring oil to the Pacific Coast for shipment to Asia, a major step in the country's efforts to diversify its oil exports if it can overcome fierce opposition from environmental and aboriginal groups.

Gee, thank you Obama, you ass. Now the Chinese get what we should have gotten.
Exactly.
“Gee, thank you Obama, you ass.”
There isn’t a single thing he hasn’t screwed up. His fingerprints are on everything.
AMEN!
instead of us getting those resources because of that world class A hole obozo, they will be going to china.
Thanks Obama ... for nothing!
Bump
The Keystone Pipeline Is Just One Of Canada's Oil Export Options...Not Even The Most Important
Instead of sending it down to Texas refineries through a secure and stable pipleline, The oil will travel over successive pristine rugged mountain ranges, through an active serious earthquake zone to be loaded on leaky ships in the environmentally sensitive coastal waters of British Columbia, which will transport the oil through fog-shrouded channels to the open ocean to Chinese poorly-regulated ports through substandard pipelines to refineries in polluted China and then......be burned releasing the same CO2 into the atmosphere.
Meantime,we will continue to buy heavy crude from corrupt Venezuelan poorly-regulated oil fields around filthy Lake Maracaibo and ship the crude in leaky vessels across the Hurricane-prone Gulf of Mexico waters to refineries in Texas, after which it will .....be burned and release CO2 into the atmosphere.
ping.
From EIA.gov: Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum to the United States in January; exporting 3,205 thousand barrels per day. The second largest exporter of total petroleum was Saudi Arabia with 1,444 thousand barrels per day.
If you think this administration's motives have anything to do with saving the environment, I will sell you some beach front property in the TX Hill Country.
Well this almost had to be done, because the oil sands will be ramping up production in the next few years, and Keystone or no Keystone, the US already has plenty of domestic oil (thanks to fracking). And Canada’s domestic consumption is too small to use it all.
That leaves Asia and Europe as export markets - China was always ready to gobble up all we could produce, and now with the sudden Ukraine situation, a lot of Europe is suddenly interested in non-Russian oil.
If a pipeline can get approval to go through Oregon, Washington or California, the oil should just be strapped to the backs of pigs and let them fly it to Asia.
So maybe China will adopt the Canadian loon as its currency?
Well, we have an American loon in the oval office.
That oil was SUPPOSED to come to US until Obama and the Democrats screwed it up just like everything else they touch!!
Canada has a conservative government interested in growing the economy and exploiting natural resources. The US, not so much.
