RUSH: I want to go back to the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll for one little tidbit of additional information that was not imparted by F. Chuck Todd. However, it could be one of the reasons he's so despondent. Washington Examiner dug deep. "Hispanics Help Drive President Obama's Approval Rating to a Fresh Low." Hispanics.

Now, remember, the conventional wisdom in Washington is the Republicans had better adopt the policies of the Democrats so that they get some Hispanic support so that they can win some elections again. And if they don't do that, it's sayonara -- or adios. Yet here we have the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, "Hispanics Help Drive President Obama's Approval Rating to a Fresh Low."

How is this possible?

Republicans are buying into the idea that they have to be for amnesty to win Hispanic votes, yet Obama's erased the border, he's promised illegals amnesty, and he's tanking in this poll. We're being overrun at the moment with unaccompanied children from Central America. Maybe could it be that the Hispanic population of this country wants a secure nation just like everybody else?

"President Obama's approval rating has slipped to a fresh low of 41% amid a myriad of scandals involving mismanagement and alleged corruption at multiple federal agencies and a significant loss of support among Hispanics, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. The recent decline is notable in that it has been rather sudden, consisting of several sharp dips occurring just after the start of this year.

"Also notable: The president has lost a considerable amount of support from the Hispanic community," and here are the numbers: "[H]is approval rating plummeting to 44%, down from its previous posting of 67% in January 2013." What is this, 17%? No, this is 23%! He's had a 23% drop in approval from Hispanic voters in a year and a half!

"The decline comes at a time when the border between the US and Mexico has been overrun with thousands of abandoned immigrant children and teenagers. 'It all comes back to one word: leadership,' Democratic pollster Peter Hart told the Journal. 'He may be winning the issues debate, but he's losing the political debate because they don't see him as a leader,'" meaning Hispanics.

Now, this is not insignificant.

This is pretty sad.

I'll bet you F. Chuck Todd saw this. He didn't mention this per se, but this has to be one of the reasons he's so despondent. Because remember, now, everybody and their uncle in the entire Washington establishment is basing every election victory on garnering a majority of Hispanic votes. They have become the new independents. They've become the new moderates, Hispanic voters.

We've been told, the Republicans have been told, "You'd better support amnesty, and you'd better support an open border, and you'd better support them 'coming out of shadows,' or you're never gonna win." Obama's leading that charge, and he's dropped 23 points among Hispanics in a year and a half, from 67% approval in January 2013 to 44% today.

His overall approval is at 41% nationwide, and it's at 44% Hispanics.

How can this be?

Will the Republicans take note, folks?

While good news indeed, they aren’t running against Obama. And most of the reason they don’t like him is because of Deportations and insufficient support of Amnesty, etc. Polls also show they like the GOP even less. And they LOVE them some Hildabeast.

Even more of a reason to oppose amnesty. Obama can't get amnesty, which lowers his polls among Hispanics. Obama has been all talk. He had complete control of Congress the first two years of his Presidency and could have easily got amnesty. He didn't. Now he just using it as a political issue, but it is backfiring against him.

Deportations are down to their lowest level in more than 30 years.

If the numbers keep dropping we might actually get our border security enforced

There are Americans with Mexican ties that have been here since before Colorado was a state. These Americans are my friends and neighbors.

They are against illegal immigration for the same reasons as me. With one additional beef. Unlike me, they look like they came from Mexico because their ancestors did. So the illegals make my American friends look bad.

Legal American residents of Hispanic heritage who are more “Hispanic” than American and support any type of retention or amnesty for illegal immigrants and vote accordingly, will destroy the American Dream for their own children and descendants for generations.

Hispnics be Americans first while being proud of your roots.

Many Hispanics are family oriented folks. Many Hispanics (educated in Catholic schools in Mexico) are better educated than US-born citizens. Hispanics are not going to agree with decadent liberals just because they’re told to do so.

.

Fellow Texans, flood out the faxes, emails and phones at the governor’s office and your representatives!

Ask what they intend to do about massive amount of illegal aliens flooding over our border, bringing crime, drugs, disease and unbelievable expense to the state to care for them.

This is insane!

HOUSTON, Texas—Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) appeared on Fox News’ Fox and Friends show and said Texas lacks the resources and manpower to secure the 1,200 mile border...
BS!

Other Texas elected officials, speaking on condition of anonymity have told Breitbart Texas that Texas does, in fact, have the resources to conduct not only a surge operation, but a prolonged border control operation that would secure the Texas border with Mexico.

Legal Hispanic have been welcomed here - they're hard working, good parents...careful neighbors. They fit.

Illegals are destroying that...

Democrat's hated of the middle class was so intense - it blinded them. Democrats didn't consider the flood of illegals would hurt established Hispanic Americans... and not just conservative Americans.

Man, that was clueless, it is Catholic Hispanics and immigrants that feeds the democrat vote machine.

Who told you that, that crime community was pro-family and not liberal?

Mexico is a wasteland and always has been.

Drop that nonsense, Latin countries are the way they are because of who lives there, and they have been importing that to here for decades.

Lots of Hispanics where I am. During the 2012 election (and in 2008 also), I saw slews of those "Sí, Se Puede!" and "Latinos con Obama!" bumper stickers, but not one single "Romney para Presidente!" or the like.

Offhand, I'd have to say at best 1 in 5 Hispanics that I know are GOP.

Good points ansell - the culture in most Hispanic countries is dreadful - few uber elites at the top, lots of poor people and massive crime. You're right on that.... but here in Florida the people who chose to escape - not illegally - but legally have rejected that system.

That said, there's a tipping point where rather than fitting into our culture and adding to it, if enough people overwhelm it, they'll recreate the hellholes they're trying to get away from.

You are flat out wrong about the Hispanics being great family people and low in crime and all the other selling points liberals have used for decades.

There is a reason people avoid Hispanic countries.

This immigration is degrading our nation, not improving it.

Cubans in Florida where I live have been strong Republicans, pro-family and Christian.

So you went from Hispanic immigration to talking about some Cubans you know in Florida, and even then you keep painting with a rose colored brush.

Why did you want to get away from “Hispanic” immigration?

You are selling a lie about Hispanics, they are a disaster. JFK and the left knew what they were doing when they changed the immigration laws.

Back up my position on immigration from Hispanic countries and life in Hispanic countries and Hispanic polling on social issues, to prove that your guys have been selling fake claims for decades on the natural conservatism of Hispanics, and how these millions of immigrants are just natural family oriented republicans?

What pro-immigration game are you at now?
