American workers are struggling to find jobs and illegal immigrants flooding across the border are straining the country's resources, but Rupert Murdoch believes amnesty legislation "can't wait."
A day after dining with President Barack Obama's top adviser Valerie Jarrett, Murdoch, the Chairman of the group that owns Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, pushed for amnesty and an unlimited number of high-tech guest-worker visas in a Wednesday op-ed in the Journal.
Murdoch said his "heart sank" when he learned that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) was ousted last week in a primary election that was widely viewed as a referendum against amnesty legislation.
"Like others who want comprehensive immigration reform, I worried that Mr. Cantor's loss would be misconstrued and make Congress reluctant to tackle this urgent need," Murdoch wrote. He praised Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Grover Norquist for pushing for amnesty legislation and spoke about his own immigrant experience, though Murdoch de-emphasized that he came to the country legally, unlike those he feels should get amnesty.

Murdoch doesn’t have to deal with the wage suppression and compete with illegal/legal immigrants from the third world coming here to flood the unemployment ranks.
Screw him. If they were directly affecting his life, neighborhood or anything else, we wouldn’t be hearing about “immigration reform”.
Why does amnesty trump securing our borders, Mr. Murdoch? Where is the common sense in that approach? It failed the last time it was tried 25 years ago. Is it that you believe in open borders?
We are having a surge of illegal immigrants because they are anticipating amnesty. How should we handle that, Mr. Murdoch?

Here I sit on unemployment because India is doing my job cheaper. I understand it’s the free market and I’m adjusting. But they want to bring more hi-tech foreign nationals into America along with illegals? People, wake the f* up already.
Obama has proven that there will never be any more Federal Amnesty Laws passed because of his flooding the US Border with “the children” due to Obama’s illegal Executive “Dreamer” Order.

I agree with you on a lot, and I support your network for the most part (except that they tend to also be for ever-more immigration)
But America needs to protect America.

fyi, Rupert Murdoch was originally Australian and was legally not able to start Fox News until he became a US citizen.
Rupert Murdoch could be considered “a h1b” immigrant.
Murdoch’s views on immigration are probably colored by his experience where he got into the USA and made it a better country and also in Australia where most of the immigrants are yellowskins who also made Australia a better country.
His personal experience does not allow him to believe that the USA has enough people now as Australia is still under populated

Common sense has nothing to do with it. Jarrett informed Murdy that SHE’s the REAL POTUS, and unless he plays ball, his news empire, at least the portion of it in the U.S.A., will be nationalized “for the good of the people.”
The ironic/karma part of it is that it will eventually be nationalized anyhow. The LAST entity devoured by the gubmint croccodile DOES actually get eaten, just like all the others HE initially HELPED the gubmint to devour, as Murdock is now doing. Presstitutes come in numerous forms....including empty suit billionaire$.
