Compared to 9/11, no. And that was on Obama’s watch when “al qaeda was on the run”. /s

GWB’s homeland security policies (although I don’t like some aspects of the Patriot Act) kept this country safe and he should be given credit for that. My gripe with GWB was the explosion in federal spending and the handling of the economic crisis.

Maybe I should have clarified that there wasn’t a serious act of terrorism related to al qaeda, the group that precipitated the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.

So now you've got a destabilized ME with ISIS far worse than AlQaida.

If GWB really wanted to go after the 911 shouldn't Saudi Arabia have been the target? All of the 911 terrorists and BinLaden were Saudi. The terrorists were in the US illegally. Wouldn't it have made more sense to make it as impossible as possible to be in the US illegally?

GWBs actions didn't end the terrorist threats. His policies, made even worse by Obama, morphed the terrorist threat into something far worse.

I was right about the Iraq war. I was against it from the start. I was for the war to liberate Kuwait from Iraq. I was against the war on Iraq to retaliate for 9/11.

I just wanted to drop a tactical nuke on a middle east city harboring the terrorists that were involved in 9/11, turn it to glass, take our lumps with international public condemnation, and warn every terrorist world wide that another event would yield another nuked middle eastern city.

Then call it a day.

But a protracted war? No. I knew a brutal Dictator like Saddam was needed to stabilize the region. Everybody knew it. Everybody knew Democracy would never hold in Iraq and the end game could only be another radical Islamic fundamentalist nation. We hoped against hope once the war was on, but we knew Muslims are not capable of Democracy.

That and his other actions have enabled a modern caliphate to become organized. Obama’s goal IMHO.

The necessary fact without which nothing makes sense.

All the events since the "Arab Spring" started have been geared to this goal: the caliphate.

The Iraq War was the right thing to do. All of Bush's actions have been undone and then some by Obama, who is the polar opposite of Bush and follows him like the night follows the day.

This writer hasn't read the news lately: jihadi fighters in Iraq have discovered a stash of WMD including various poisonous gases, so we were right to go into Iraq!

When the entire Christian population of Iraq is forced to flee, I don’t call thata win. I knew this would happen, and warned at the time.

Someone told me back in 2009 that Obama was going to patch up our relations with all the other countries that had been angered by George W. Bush! I have searched for something that would be as absurd as that idea and it is hard to think of anything. Maybe if he had said that Joe Biden is going to correct the errors in logic and sentence construction in the writings of Dr. Thomas Sowell, that might come close. I remember asking at the time if the man actually believed what he was saying and he replied in the affirmative. I still recall telling him that, “I damned sure don’t.” Unfortunately the man has died since then so I can’t go back and ask him if he still believes what he said.

I think had we done nothing, Saddam Hussein would have gotten his hands on WMD. That would have been about as destabilizing as you can get.

If GWB really wanted to go after the 911 shouldn't Saudi Arabia have been the target? All of the 911 terrorists and BinLaden were Saudi.

Maybe so, but they found a home and support (ideological and financial) in Iraq.

The terrorists were in the US illegally. Wouldn't it have made more sense to make it as impossible as possible to be in the US illegally?

Fully agree.

GWBs actions didn't end the terrorist threats. His policies, made even worse by Obama, morphed the terrorist threat into something far worse.

GWB maintained that this was a battle that was going to go on and on for generations. No one person or idea can end a battle that has been waging for 1,000's of years. I disagree that ISIS is something worse than al Qaeda. But it can become something worse very quickly if it gets its hands on WMD's. Imagine 9/11 with a plane full of nerve gas. That's why GWB and virtually all every member of Congress (on both sides of the aisle) voted to take on SH-to prevent that from happening. We know now that the intel was faulty and that SH did not have WMD at the time. But if given a pass, it would have likely been a matter of time before he obtained them and used them on his enemies.

There are a lot of if's and you can't prove negatives, but I supported and continue to support a hard line in the ME. If they stayed put and just killed one another, great. But they don't. They're hell bent on destroying us and Israel. One of the Gitmo five said to the person who released him, "See you in New York". Anyone who doubts the seriousness of that threat is a fool.

Obama's not going to do a darn thing about ISIS, so those who prefer a hands off approach will be satisfied with his leadership (or lack thereof) on this issue.

I knew as soon as Bush caved to the ragheads and changed the initial name of the response to 9/11 -

Originally called “Infinite Justice” -

because they were offended by the use of the word ‘infinite’.

I knew we were doomed to fail. Politicians screwed the troops again!

Hey, I am not a Beck hater. If you read my post, it says I listen to him. I DID CERTAINLY HERE HIM SAY IN HIS OWN WORDS that he was for homosexual marriage before zero was. I HEARD HIM SAY IT.

And who the heck isn’t against those who kill homosexuals??? No conservative I know has ever, ever supported that.

Sheesh.

Alrighty then. I listened to him as well and NEVER heard him express support for gay marriage.

If I am inclinded to so, I will find the audio and link it.
Just annoys me to have blatant falsehoods spread.

Honestly, I was shocked to hear it. He actually said, “I was for homosexual marriage before (can’t remember if he said this president or obama) was.

I was shocked because I didn’t know that Beck supported homosexual marriage. But with the craziness in the world- up is down and black is white- anything is possible.

Liberals insisted that Afghanistan was “the right war” yet less was accomplished there. Bin Laden was reportedly in Pakistan (evidence of this claim was never presented, any photos and the body were made to “disappear”).
