The nation's top archivist says the Internal Revenue Service did not follow the law when it failed to report the loss of records belonging to a senior IRS executive.

David Ferriero says federal law requires that government agencies must notify the National Archives and Records Administration when it becomes aware that federal records are lost.

So they broke the law, what are the repercussions?

The IRS and its Progressive managers will play for a reduced (and much less interesting) charge of breaking the law on record keeping, as it allows delay, obfuscation and elimination of law-breaking for political reasons.

And they are banking that such a “boring” scandal over bad record-keeping will not have any legs in the public and the Government-controlled media.

Did anyone ask the key follow up. Had IRS lost records in past, if yes, how quickly did they notify them.

Gee. I wonder what would happen to my company if I didn’t follow the law regarding emails and the IRS wanted them?

Would they accept an “Awe shucks. My hard drive crashed.”?

AP is trying to sugarcoat this thing. The emails weren't just "lost"... they were intentionally DESTROYED.

The crime here isn't merely the failure to report the "accidental loss", and AP knows it.

Targeting political enemies during an election cycle is a HUGE crime. Covering up and destroying evidence is another big crime. Lying about the crime and the coverup is yet another crime.

Team Obama orchestrated the crime of targeting. Team Obama ordered the destruction of evidence. Team Obama is deeply involved in the coverup.

Team Obama is likely committing the same crimes this election cycle. The MSM thinks that the end justifies the means, and will do everything in their power to assist Obama.

Maybe Judicial Watch can get the ‘lost’ Emails.. They managed to get the smoking gun Benghazi Emails about the video narrative.

This entire, “my hard drive crashed” is a bunch of crap. In the last 25 years of computer ownership I can count the number of hard drive crashes on ZERO fingers.

I have to wonder, if the IRS had not harassed the Tea Party, would the GOP have won Ohio and the Presidency? My guess is No. Is anyone investigating the precinct leadership in the counties with suspect voter turnout anymore? I would think some basic statistical analysis would draw attention to details the Main Stream Media missed. We’ve got to punch Obama while he is down with even more revelations of his dirty work - and not focus on any one thing. Keep the hits coming!

"Listen, I grew up in a bar, this doesn't pass the straight face test," Boehner, of Ohio, said

He grew up in a bar?! What is he talking about?

"Yup, looks like we didn't follow the law. Oh, well."

I wouldn't try that in traffic court.

If you want to improve the IRS firing about 1/3 of them would motivate the remainder to do their jobs more efficiently and within the law. If you just cut the agency by 1/3 you don’t need to waste money on any investigation. Also the congress should put into law that they cannot be rehired by any federal entity for 10 years.

.Wow--just used your link (THANK YOU!) and the comments are really telling! 350 so far, and the first 20+ I took time to read are ALL expressing --to varying degrees--outrage with the IRS's claim they just failed to "follow the law"! This story has some legs--and hopefully attached to them are some boots big enough to stomp all over the liars and thieves which have in infested the Obamanation!

It's up over 3,600+ comments now, you are correct, this has pissed off a lot of Americans.

That email is backed up from a network drive every night, with a copy on the hard drive. It’s a .PST File. If servers were upgraded, the file along with the PST files of everyone in that group would have been backed up and then restored onto the new server. Since that server, especially in this day and age would have been replicating to another server there is another copy.

So, if the local drive crashes, the .PST file would be restored. If it wasn’t on the server, it would be on the replicated server.

A worst, the drives (probably H) would be backed up nightly to tape with a certain retention period before it is recycled.

In other words, I am calling BS on the IRS.

One last question. They keep mentioning 6 additional people lost files. Did their local drives also crash? The odds of that are, let’s just say Dell SAS drives have an MBTF meantime before failure at 1.6m hours. Unless there was a bad batch and coincidentally the 6 people impacted are all involved in this scandal had their drives all fail at the same time, it is nearly impossible for this to happen.

My advice? Every month, bring this up. Have a press conference with a reminder on how corrupt the Obama government is. Keep committees quiet, with just enough info going out to keep Fox News sated.

Win control of the Congress and Senate and on January 20 2014’ start the removal process for Obama, Holder, and the entire lot of them. Take Sunsteen and the other 31 Marxist Czars and have them arrested for sedition.

This way no one can say its racist.

This could be the greatest gift Obama has given America since he became the #1 gun salesman in the country.
