Runoff voter turnout appears to be up (Mississippi)

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - At the Ocean Springs Civic Center, the lines were long as voters waited to cast their ballots. The turnout surprised some poll workers, like Paula Clifford.

"I am. I'm very surprised at what we've had so far. We've had more people come in and vote this time than we had the last time," Clifford explained.

Voters, like Robert Kline, seem to sense that something big is about to happen, no matter who wins.

"This is very important to our state, picking out the congressman we want to continue, and I just felt like it was a civic duty to do," Kline said.

At the St. Martin Community Center, it's much the same. The parking lot is full. Also full is the roadside curb, full of campaign signs for the two candidates. Jim Sumrall is the Poll Manager here.

There better be a third party because I will never vote for another Republican.

“Team Romney” what does he have to do with Mississippi’s GOP senate primary? Carry a grudge much?

In GA, if you don’t vote in the general you are not eligible to vote in a runoff.

I smell fish.

“...picking out the congressman we want to continue, and I just felt like it was a civic duty to do.”

“TO CONTINUE” might be construed as a clue to how Mr. Klein’s voted. But if he doesn’t know the difference between “the congressman” and “the Senator,” he shouldn’t be allowed to vote. So tired of totally ignorant people voting.

If those backwater mississippi moron hicks vote based on what a selfish, (prescription) drugged-up, penis texting, overly concussed football player says...
I believe that they’ll be judged accordingly, and harshly, on the last day for what they helped do to this country.

I don’t think there’s enough votes left in the rural country side to over come that margin ...

You might as well draw that map along racial lines. No doubt whatsoever it was Barbour courting black Democrat voters that turned the tide.

If McDaniel loses he should attack the NRSC and tell them he will run as a Independent like the Alaskan Queen did. Watch their heads explode. Without their race baiting hate campaign Thad was toast.

Those black voters won’t vote for Thad in the general.

Funny, the NRSC whines about outside influence ie. National Tea Party money in Oklahoma but look how much they and the Chamber of Amnesty dumped in Miss.

Hubby and I were talking about this very thing. Without the dim voters, how many votes would Cochran actually have gotten?

I would think 45% tops without Dem or fraud votes.
