BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - At the Ocean Springs Civic Center, the lines were long as voters waited to cast their ballots. The turnout surprised some poll workers, like Paula Clifford.
"I am. I'm very surprised at what we've had so far. We've had more people come in and vote this time than we had the last time," Clifford explained.
Voters, like Robert Kline, seem to sense that something big is about to happen, no matter who wins.
"This is very important to our state, picking out the congressman we want to continue, and I just felt like it was a civic duty to do," Kline said.
At the St. Martin Community Center, it's much the same. The parking lot is full. Also full is the roadside curb, full of campaign signs for the two candidates. Jim Sumrall is the Poll Manager here.

Nope, good news.
How do you figure?
(Dem) turnout up?
Typical Team Romney cheating.
Looking for out of state voters showing up in large
numbers, close to interstate highways.
Cheating, backstabbing: The Team Romney way.
If this phenomenon were legit, those new voters would be voting TEA party be ause this would indicate that people were fed up with the establishment business as usual.
No way to tell which way the extra vote is going and it depends on the county. If the TP voters got pissed at Thad then it will go McDaniel. If the Chaos crossover vote strategy worked it would help Thad. Etc.
Voting for “free” stuff paid for by taxpayers in other states is always popular. Shame on Cochran and his freeloaders!
>> Nope, good news.
“picking out the >>congressman<< we want to continue”
If they’re all as ignorant as Robert here, I’d have to agree with Viennacon and lean towards BAD news... hope I’m wrong.
A smaller turnout always favors the challenger
If Cochran succeeds because of courting the Dems, then I will never again vote for a Republican candidate who takes one thin dime from the RNC.
C - 192 votes
M - 72 votes
First results in: Chris:248, Thad:95.
McDaniel - 507 votes
Hubby just said those very words.
Cochran - 1,049
McDaniel - 807
This went out in black areas:
McDaniel - 53.18% (1,622 votes)
McDaniel - 51.75% (2,186 votes)
(this one's gonna be a Donnybrook)
Can you provide a link to live results please? I saw a brief mention of the results on Fox saying McDaniel 66.1% to Thud at 33.9% with 0% reporting.
When it comes to the American people making decisions, it is nearly always BAD news.
If this was done by Cochran’s people, they should be ashamed. Chris should take legal action.
I would think that after five years of this crap, every TEA Party-type would have the brains to show up and vote in every election in their town! If not, we deserve to lose our country.
Cockran at 58% with 10% of the precincts in. Smells like BS to me...
If there are more total votes than the initial primary won’t that prove there is voter fraud?
Wasn't there a Libertarian that forced the runoff in the first election? That's why we have McAuliffe in VA as well ...
Megasn Kelly numbers
Thad 14,800 55%
McDaniel 11,600 40%
Isn’t this the district where a demo congressman is running for reelection and the black leaders were telling blacks to vote democrat?
Brett is a drunk drug taking adulterous thug.
McDaniel not carrying any urban districts, almost over ...
So the black and Democrat vote is helping Cochran. No surprise there.
27% results in
Thad Cochran (Incumbent) 53.9%
Chris McDaniel 46.1%
A glimmer of hope ...
Wasn’t there a Libertarian that forced the runoff in the first election? That’s why we have McAuliffe in VA as well ...
I believe it was something like the Constitution Party. Some liberal Texan billionaire threw down a lot of money to get the the 3rd party candidate on the ballot. It peeled just enough conservative votes away from the republican for the demo to win. I am really sick of the BS..
There better be a third party because I will never vote for another Republican.
“Team Romney” what does he have to do with Mississippi’s GOP senate primary? Carry a grudge much?
In GA, if you don’t vote in the general you are not eligible to vote in a runoff.
I smell fish.
“...picking out the congressman we want to continue, and I just felt like it was a civic duty to do.”
“TO CONTINUE” might be construed as a clue to how Mr. Klein’s voted. But if he doesn’t know the difference between “the congressman” and “the Senator,” he shouldn’t be allowed to vote. So tired of totally ignorant people voting.
Chris McDaniel making a comeback.
Thad Cochran (Incumbent) 52.7%
Chris McDaniel 47.3%
Starting to break for McDaniel - need to get Cochran under 51% with 50% reporting ...
If those backwater mississippi moron hicks vote based on what a selfish, (prescription) drugged-up, penis texting, overly concussed football player says...
I believe that they’ll be judged accordingly, and harshly, on the last day for what they helped do to this country.
49.2% results in
Thad Cochran (Incumbent) 52.0%
Chris McDaniel 48.0%
It's a race now ...
He's still in this!
