Several Russian Nationalists answered the call to come to Ukraine after the leaders threatened to wipe out the Russians in Ukraine. And they still are.
While Kiev talks a fine line, the “Ethnic Cleansing” being done by the militias and Right Sector cannot be denied. Ethnic Russians ARE being targeted by these groups, and sometimes murdered.
Again, NONE of this would be happening had not the Western Radicals violently overthrown the elected government, and a Ukrainian Flag would still be flying over Crimea.

Involvement of foreign nationals and a foreign government is the very definition of transnational warfare and is not a civil war. Nobody died in Donbas until Russians arrived and started killing. No one.
Stuff the US sent to other countries is showing up in Southeast Ukraine according to what I've heard so that would almost have to be coming from sales to the people in the Southeast. Otherwise it would mean the US is playing both sides against the middle which isn't very reasonable even as a lame conspiracy theory. I would think that with all the government buildings they've captured people resisting Kiev probably have plenty of cash to pay anyone who will accept Ukraine currency.
The rumor mill in Ukraine seems to be everyone's hobby. Friends of mine call over there a couple of times a week and could stay on the phone for hours just listing the rumors that are flying around in Western Ukraine.
Eastern Ukraine, particularly the Southeast, is probably worse. I suspect a lot of the reports of "the Russians are coming" originate with people in the Southeast just like rumors of the 82nd Airborne being on the way were rampant in 1956 during the Hungarian revolt. They're basically wishful thinking on someones part.

To admit the ethnic Russian Ukrainians they are killing are actually Ukrainian citizens, means to admit that there actually IS a Civil War going on, which they can’t do, and maintain control.
A lot of the current problem stems from Kiev painting itself into a corner with their own propaganda. Anyone standing against the coup government was labeled a “Terrorist”, by people that took down their own government in a coup.
You will note how hard the Maidans on FR have tried to control the language of this event.
