An exchange between Neil Cavuto and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) regarding a lawsuit filed by the House against the Obama administration grew so contentious, that the former cut to commercial in the midst of Bachmann furiously admonishing him.
While Bachmann was on Fox to defend the lawsuit, which claims that the administration has abused his powers via over-using executive privilege and wants to defund him, Cavuto exasperatedly pointed out that the timing of the lawsuit seemed too political to make sense. “You’ve been bemoaning it for a long time. Why now the suit?” he asked. “Why not just fix things that are very, very wrong now rather than dragging someone to court over whether they overstepped their bounds? It just seems to me like an enormous waste of effort.”
Bachmann attempted to defend the lawsuit by hitting the GOP’s talking points, Cavuto wasn’t having any of it: Where was your rage with Democrats when Democrats were going after President Bush on the same use of executive orders? Because I think you knew then that was a waste of time then. I think you know in your heart of hearts this is a waste of time now.”
Eventually it devolved to the point where Cavuto abruptly took the program to a commercial break as Bachmann was in the middle of a loud denunciation of Cavuto.
When he returned, he apologized to Bachmann for accidentally cutting her off. “But I don’t apologize for my sentiment for the fact that we are wasting time filing lawsuits against one another,” he added. “These types of charades — and I’m sorry, that’s what I call them — are just that, charades.”
Watch below via Fox:
I can see the numbers (possibly) for impeachment.
But I don’t see any way the Senate gets to 67.
Getting a GOP majority might enable some Democrats to unleash their secret loathing for the Big Ears.
A lawsuit is a stupid idea. The only recourse the congress has to stop Obama is to impeach him. They won’t do this so they do the next best thing, they grandstand.
The timing of this is pretty suspicious given that they basically called every conservative Republican a racist when they tried to save Thad Cochran.
Cavuto is right on the money.
Bachmann is being played for a fool.
I think you’re dreaming.
What Dem is gonna cross the Chicago mob?
They make the Clinton Crime Family look like the Brady Bunch.
Bachmann didn’t file a suit, Boehner did. You know damn well that Boehner wouldn’t lift a finger or lend an ear to Bachmann.
Neil was an ass in this segment.
and don’t forget about this:

I got sick of Cavuto when he made snide with Ted Cruz a few months back. I think he’s a closet lefty. We don’t watch him anymore.
I believe it way past time for the congress to explore every avenue to bring the administration back within it's legitimate authority. (see my tagline).
Somebody has got to do something besides cry to the voters and then subvert them when they try to replace useless members of the GOPe.
The GOPe seems to want the voters to get rid of the democrats, elect the republicans that the establishment wants, and then stay the hell out of "their" business.
It is not going to work that way.
Yes, he was an ass. Uncharacteristically so.
But it is a charade
Fascist, ass-hole, same thing...
Send her your number. Every day. After a while I’ll bet you get a call from someone close to her.
LOL. Yeah, I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. But you did.
Is ‘Boner’ doing this to protect Obama from being impeached? This is like trying terrorists in civilian courts rather than military tribunal.
Sure. But as long as you’re dreaming you might as well dream big
At least SHE is outspoken about it. She stands with a very small group of Pubes/conservatives who dare speak, yet she is laughed off as a nut. I applaud her!!
I didn't hear Cavuto suggest impeachment as an alternative.
The race card is a ruse that could easily become neutered with clever ridicule against a contentious press (Put them on the defensive). The rest is a matter of political will to push the various cover ups/corruption.
Neil showed no respect to Bachmann and basically kept yelling at her for something Boehner is doing!!! WTH!!! She kept trying to answer and COMMUNICATE and Neil cut her off and treated her contemptuously. Michele is on the TeaParty side of the aisle, which is most likely why Neil was so crappy to her.
Nevertheless, folks, did you notice that the excerpt quoted only several things Cavuto said and nothing at all that Bachmann said? Why?
