Obama’s Weakness, or Ours?
New York Times ^ | June 25, 2014 | By Nicolas Kristof

The odds are that you think President Obama’s foreign policy is a failure.

That’s the scathing consensus forming, with just 36 percent of Americans approving of Obama’s foreign policy in a New York Times/CBS News poll released this week. Foreign policy used to be a source of strength for the president, and now it’s dragging him down — and probably other Democrats with him.

Blowing things up is often satisfying, and Obama’s penchant for muddling along instead, with restraint, is hurting him politically. But that’s our weakness more than his. Obama’s foreign policy is far more deft — and less dangerous — than the public thinks, and he doesn’t deserve the harsh assessments. If there’s one thing we should have learned in the Bush/Cheney years, it’s that swagger and invasion are overrated as foreign policy instruments.

I think liberal news media require their news writers or TV news readers to first be subjected to a battery of psych tests and be certified as total loons before they are hired.

The New York Times is getting in practice. When the democrats get pole axed in the November elections and lose the senate, the NY Slimes wi ask: “Obama’s fault, or Ours?” => It will be ours, spurred on by the dastardly Tea Party and mythical Koch Brothers.

At first, the cognitive dissonance created by the article’s viewpoint had my brain short-circuiting but then seeing the source as that of the Slimes, it began to make a whole lot of sense.

I should have said, it began to make a whole lot of sense why it didn’t make any sense.

Excellent post. Romney was last on my list- but at least he was an American who loved his country. It’s like today; Texas is being flooded with illegal aliens (Obama’s Cloward-Piven scheme) AND EVEN BEING FIRED UPON FROM ACROSS THE BORDER and all Perry does is whine that the Feds won’t secure the border. (Where ‘s the “surge” Perry?) TRAVIS AND HOUSTON FOUGHT AND DIED FOR TEXAS. THEY WOULD BE ASHAMED OF US FOR BEING SO GUTLESS AS TO LET THIS HAPPEN TO TEXAS.

As further proof of your theory of Americans becoming a nation of whimps; I posted for days a list of emails, phones and faxes to the governors office and our Texas reps where we could demand that Texas' border be secured.

I was laughed at- even by fellow Texans.

'Fat lot of good THAT'S gonna do' was the general consensus.

And all Perry does is get on National TV and whine that the Feds won't secure the border. He's said that we do not have the resources, (lie) but promised a 'surge'- which has yet to materialize. Illegal aliens continue to swarm over our border daily and we're even being fired upon from across the Mexican border- yet he does nothing.

The atrocious situation we find ourselves in today is because nobody has the guts to speak up- or just don't give a d*mn.

My deepest apologies to Col Travis, Sam Houston and all the heroes of the Alamo and the Texas revolution who fought and died for our freedom and system of government.

Your worst fears for Texas are coming true.

We have failed Texas.
