Tea party groups are apoplectic over how Cochran won in Mississippi
Yahoo Finance ^ | June 25,2014 | Chris Moody

“What happened yesterday in Mississippi will resonate for years to come. It will become the battle cry, just like the Alamo,” one activist said.

In the long, sordid war between the Republican Party “establishment” and tea party factions working to unseat those they see as ideologically wayward, nothing has infuriated conservative activists quite like what happened Tuesday in Mississippi.

“The establishment crossed the line last night,” Craig Shirley, a conservative political consultant and biographer of Ronald Reagan told Yahoo News in an interview Wednesday. “This is a win for the establishment, but it’s a win with an asterisk, because it’s so tainted that it might be one of those things where they’re going to be sorry they ever won the runoff in Mississippi.”

Shirley’s argument, which was echoed by tea party group leaders and others involved in the race, contends that Cochran’s campaign scorned the party’s conservative base in order to win.

The GOPe proved they are as willing to use race-baiting to win elections as are the Democrats.

What a sleazy, disgusting collection of white-trash millionaires they are.

The higher Miss turnout this time was democrats who were coaxed to believe they were voting for a Democrat (to stop a Repub “racist”).

Lo-fo Dummies....................

What makes the Washington GOPe think they can win in the General in November with THAT result????

Text of my email to the RNC:

I hope the establishment enjoyed there pyrrhic victory last Tuesday in Mississippi.

Those who identify themselves as ‘Taxed Enough Already’ have taken note of the behavior of those we thought to be ‘Republican’.

Once we pull all the knives from our backs placed there by those we voted for I doubt you will be able to count on our votes.

No kidding.

Perhaps you should try fundraising from Thads ‘new voters’?

Good luck with that.

You have lost me, and a huge number of those of like mind.

My father told me years ago, “when someone shows you who they are, believe them”.

I know who you are now.

Goodbye.

Ya got me. I think there is a large portion of "unintended consequences" that is going to get served up here. And it is not limited to Mississippi. (I typed out Mississippi in full because it's fun.)

True.
They tricked democrats into thinking they were voting for a Democrat, ‘Thad’ the impaler — of a decent Tea Party person.

But where’s that going to get them, in the november General election?

A Democrat in the Senate!

Ok please explain, in a nice, short,& simple words....

I am a Republican. I used to say Conservative, but bottom line is I'm Republican. I will always vote R even if not my first choice.

what is the difference between a Republican, Tea Party, Conservative, GOP-e, and Republican Party “establishment.

What is the difference between a 21st century R and D? None, they both have a streak running down their entire backbone that also serves as a spear to knife party members in the back!

I've emailed them once (as they're hiding from the phone, apparently), but this is great-may I borrow it, as a kind of form letter, to send them another?

“The GOPe proved they are as willing to use race-baiting to win elections as are the Democrats.”

Exactly, but it is amazing how many people are talking about this election and just leaving that part out.

They are saying,oh it is good how Cochran reached out to blacks/democrats to vote for him.

They don’t say that he did it with a nuclear overdose of fear and pandering.

It’s like we’ve just descended into a world of lies.

If I lived in MS I’d vote for the Democrat in November.

Thad Cochran needs to be punished for what he’s done.

You have me stumped. I think we need to fight Democrats and not fellow Republicans because of the mortal danger they pose to the country.

I'm a conservative and a Republican. I thought I was also Tea Party, at least when the group formed around fighting the fiscal insanity of the Obama administration.

We need to take back the country before it is wrecked for good. A good start would be taking back the Senate. Even better would be defeating Hillary in 2016.

This reminds me a bit of Maine’s “Independent” senator (who caucuses with the Dems) and his endorsement of Susan Collins over her Dem opponent Sheena Bellows. Sheena’s an upstart going after established, reliable Susan (who reliably votes with the Democrats most of the time). Just protecting the old guard.

The GOP -e doesn’t care if the Democrat wins the general. Their ONLY mission was the defeat of the conservative, in order to “crush the TeaParty.” That’s all that drives them, hatred of their own base.

They have officially sealed their doom with THIS voter.

Michael Medved, talkshow entertainer, GOPE apologist and a “conservative when convenient”, asked a caller today why it’s not a good thing for blacks to vote for a Republican. Of course, he did not have time for a response from the caller who seemed to know the despicable tactics that were used by the GOPEs in Mississippi ... commercial break, y’know ...
