A new study has found that only 40% of those classified as solid liberals said they often feel proud to be American. They side with Michelle Obama instead of Lee Greenwood.
The report from Pew Research Center focuses on the broader ideological bend in the United States, but contains this small statistical nugget, as well. In comparison, 72% of steadfast conservatives said they often felt proud of their country. In total, 56% of those surveyed said they were proud to be American.
Solid liberals also overwhelmingly reject the notion that someone can succeed through hard work. Just 29% say thats true.
Moreover, there is a significant dichotomy when it comes to the notion of a typical American. Fewer solid liberals describe themselves as a typical American than any other ideological group at 51%.
The survey also diagnosed some other notable trends in the American electorate. Those that consider themselves in the middle of the political spectrum (moderates) are the least likely to follow government or public affairs.
Are 60% of them foreigners?
Well, there you go. Explains much.
Im actually surprised its that high. Ive never met a liberal who is proud to be an American, they are all Commie douche bags
This is what our taxpayer dollars are getting us to have the liberals program our young skulls full of mush.
And I’m 100% ashamed that they’re in America. Wastes of oxygen, every one.
Surprise, surprise, surprise.
Even after 5+ years of Obama?
I guess he was too hawkish for them.
WE need reeducation camps.
With what Obama is doing to America, I would find it hard to believe that a majority of conservatives would be proud to be an American!
They may have been proud with an America that “used to be” ... but certainly not with “Obama’s America”!
Liberalism IS a mental disorder.
40 percent seems really high; I would have thought less than 10 percent.
I was proud to be an American. Then the American people reelected Barack Obama.
Now, for the first time in my adult lifetime, Im really not proud of my country.
