Shifting Sands
American Thinker ^ | June 29, 2014 | Clarice Feldman

If you paid close attention this week, you could see the sand shifting under Obama’s feet. From public opinion to the federal courts to the president’s former putative allies, it was not a good week to be Obama, and it’s likely to get worse for him. Walkabouts in D.C., travels to distant fundraisers, preposterous flailing on the international scene, and more shots with his cute kids are not going to change the situation as far as I can tell. Yet he lacks other options.

1. Hard Drives are Crashing all over the Place

This week, the efforts to push the IRS scandal under the carpet seem to be unavailing. Increased numbers of IT experts say the crashed drive story is implausible.

"The notion that these emails just magically vanished makes no sense whatsoever. That is not how IT asset management at major businesses and government institutions works in this country.

When the hard drive in question was destroyed, the IRS should have called in an accredited IT Asset Destruction (ITAD) professional or firm to complete that process, which requires extensive documentation, official signoffs, approvals, and signatures of completion. If this was done, there would be records. If this was not done, this is the smoking gun that proves the drive or drives were destroyed improperly – or not at all."

Barbara Rembiesa, President, International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM)

In fact, once the story spread to include 6 other email accounts of IRS officers, all that remained was for the IRS to ask us to clap our hands if we believed in Tinkerbelle, too.

“His shortcomings deny him firm footing …they are a kind of quicksand into which he is rapidly sinking beyond rescue.”

Wrong.
Obama is succeeding beyond his wildest dreams. Our Southern borders are being flooded with illegals who will become a new progressive voting majority. There’s no reason for him to fear that the Republican leadership will take any meaningful action on the IRS or other scandals, and he knows the media will make sure most Americans remain blissfully ignorant.

Barry isn’t facing another election, and he has lots of “flexibility.”

He has a phone and he has a pen and he has a spineless Congress — what could possibly go wrong for Bambi?

I think Barry is practicing the old adage...

Who ya gonna believe, me or your lyin’ eyes.

Rubbish. O'Bummer is a small time ghetto clown who totally stumbled onto the mother lode. All because of the trash that constitute the democratic party. And because of that RINO Jorge Busho.

O'Bummer could care less re public opinion and is not in the least worried. About anything. He's set for life.

This is the best Summer I’ve had since I was a kid! Joe Biden and Hillary trying to out-poor each other. It’s like watching a bunch of drunks stumble around trying to play hopscotch.

He’s past the tipping point of committing illegal acts and should be booted.

It’s pretty certain he won’t be impeached and he’ll double down on those acts because of his arrogant in-your-face adolescent behavior, in my view.

A bad week for Obama is a good week for the planet.

Bingo.

I think he’s going for gotterdammerung. He will fail as badly and as widely as possible. There is no such thing as bad news for Barry. He wants anger and destruction, and he’s getting just what he wants.

Let me do what I do best, and engage is sheer speculation of some of the possibilities of what can happen now.

As most FReepers know, Judicial Watch has a case filed in Federal Court. Judicial Watch and the Judge did not know about the lost E-Mails until they found out in the media. I must believe that the Judge WAS NOT amused. He scheduled a hearing for July 10 without waiting for comment from the Government lawyer.

So, if he believes that there is a cover up, he can order a special prosecutor.

The first person the SP might call would be Lois Lerner. He could prosecute her for the contempt of court that the House cited her for. And remember, she made a HUGE mistake by giving a statement, and then invoking the Fifth. Then, he could have her jailed if she did not testify about the abuse of taxpayers by the IRS for starters. And there's that little matter of the missing E-Mails. And I think there's MUCH MUCH more a SP can throw at her.

But what about Eric the Red? Well, a SP can prosecute him too! He also has been cited for contempt. And if he tries to take the fifth, he can be carted off to jail for contempt of court.

Congress can be laughed at, and spit upon by the Obama Administration. But an angry Federal Judge is a whole different animal.

Thanks...If this judge is honest and honorable I believe that’s a possibility, hoping it comes to pass.

This judge’s e-mails, web accounts, telephone conversations and postal mail are all being screened...if he’s blackmail-able in any way, this is the last we’ll hear of the case.

Gotta love Clarice. Tells it like it is. Wish we had the balls in DC to do something about it.

“Thanks...If this judge is honest and honorable I believe that’s a possibility, hoping it comes to pass.”

I hope this Judge does stand up for our constitution and the rule of law.

What a disgrace it is that our elected representatives have utterly failed to do this, and we’re left hoping that a lone ethical judge can help set things right.

I’m not certain that anyone has the power to put Eric Holder in prison where he belongs. I hope I’m wrong about that.

Exactly right, it is a disgrace our elected reps won’t act on serious matters as these are and we have to hope that an ethical judge will intervene.

I don’t see Holder going to prison but under the above scenario he could be jailed by a ticked off judge for contempt, that’s probably unlikely also because Holder wouldn’t put himself in that position with such a judge in my view.
