Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren Calls Opposition To Abortion A ‘Vague Moral Objection’

“Can’t believe we live in a world where we’d even consider letting big corps deny women access to basic care based on vague moral objections,” tweeted Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren Monday, reacting to the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision.

The 5-4 ruling held that requiring for-profit corporations to include contraception in their insurance coverage violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The family of David Green, owners of the Hobby Lobby corporation, had sued the government for forcing them to provide possibly abortifacent medication (“morning-after pills”) to their employees. “It is HHS’s apparent belief that no insurance-coverage mandate would violate RFRA,” wrote Justice Samuel Alito in the majority opinion, “no matter how significantly it impinges on the religious liberties of employers—that would lead to intolerable consequences. Under HHS’s view, RFRA would permit the Government to require all employers to provide coverage for any medical procedure allowed by law in the jurisdiction in question—for in- stance, third-trimester abortions or assisted suicide. The owners of many closely held corporations could not in good conscience provide such coverage, and thus HHS would effectively exclude these people from full participation in the economic life of the Nation.

“The Supreme Court has headed in a very scary direction,” said Warren.

“...letting big corps deny women access to basic care...”

Perhaps she doesn't understand the difference between “denying” and “paying for”?

Exactly!

It is anything but healthcare, more like a health risk!

Why these people think their bodies are any more important than others is beyond me.
Abortion is a religion to them for someone else to pay for whatever they desire at any time.

Buy your own birth control or close your legs, end of story.

“the debate is over.”

As soon as one of the conservative votes on the Court is replaced by a progressive we will see a string of rulings overturning past settled cases. A progressive president, combined with a progressive court will end what is left of the power of Congress and usher in a dictatorship of a chief executive supported by a 12 member judicial council. A 5-4 progressive majority on the court will rule in favor of on demand free abortions, automatic citizenship for all immigrants, confiscation of private IRA’s and 401K’s, the end of private gun ownership, government control of religious expression, hate speech and thought crime regulation, compulsory euthanasia for the elderly, reparations for minorities, and ultimately the end of private property.

The progressive goal is complete control of the individual by the state. Secular humanist philosophy is incompatible with individual freedom. There is no middle ground.

If there really is a God (a rhetorical hypothetical... I know jolly well there is) some interesting things will befall liberals on the way to doing that.
