Will the United States ever be free again?

As we all embark on our Fourth of July holiday weekend – stuffing our faces with hot dogs and watching fireworks – it’s too easy to forget what we’re celebrating. We don’t remember the truly horrible beginnings of our nation. Specifically, I’m referring to the signers of the Declaration of Independence, those 56 brave men who pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to give us liberty.

These men weren’t stupid. They knew what would happen by affixing their names on that document. Legend has it that the elegant and oversized “John Hancock” signature wasn’t prominent because Mr. Hancock was vain. Rather, it was a poke in the eye – “Take THAT, King George” – so the monarch could read the name without spectacles.

Whether or not the legend is true, it says something about the signers. In the mists of time and the gloss of hero-worship, it’s easy to forget that the Founding Fathers weren’t declaring independence from a foreign government. They were declaring independence from their own government. By signing that document, they were committing treason during an unforgiving age when treason meant endlessly ugly ways to be tortured, persecuted, or killed.

Slowly we start, then the angle of the slope starts to increase. We are quickly picking up speed to descend further from the originators intent. To many "beholden" to make a turn around quickly.

The youth that were born after 2000 don’t know what patriotism is - but they sure in the hell know what an iPhone/iPad can do - and how to text one another - as they sit inches away...

When we all stood by and did nothing to those that watered our school systems down - forced the 10 Commandments out - took out GOD in our graduation - and a whole list of other stuff - we allowed the liberals to infiltrate and take out what truly matters to be a Citizen in this nation...I saw it happen as I was leaving HS and entering the University...and was in full swing after I graduated with my bachelors...there is no sense of being a unified nation anymore — the news won’t allow it - the politicians won’t allow it — and the school systems won’t allow it...it’s all about division and inequality...driven towards hate and anger...

The civil war has already happened along the Southern
Border. It is a demographic war prosecuted by the Federal Government against the People, a transgression of present Law. Mayhem is the result.This is how all civil wars begin
and Obama is the cause.

The only question is what it will take to rouse The People.

I have no doubt that Obama will declare an insurrection and impose martial law. And we will see if The People then have the right stuff.

Obama is a fascist who is dismantling America piecemeal, not from incompetence but through intentional planning. The immigration demographic war is just the tip of a very large iceberg.Its the Cloward-Priven strategy aided by Saul Alinsky ideology.

The first revolution in this country started because the citizens were being unfairly taxed to enhance and build a bigger government for the king. Same thing in happening now and we are almost at the breaking point again.

The 1776 revolution had a long ramp-up, a period of a decade or decades of usurpations whose combination led to a breaking point.

Likewise today, a free people will endure increased usurpations until a breaking point.

Whether that point is reached when the chance of success is tiny or nil is the big question. In Dinesh’s America, the margin of victory was so precarious, he suggests one bullet to Washington it would have failed.

If America is ever to be free again, it is not going to be in our lifetime. It will probably take more than 40 or 50 years to right the ship.

I went to a cookout hosted by a lesbian, with 2 other lesbians and 3 homosexual males (one from Honduras and here legally, and had a super conversation about the loss of Freedom and how it's hard to celebrate Independence when so much is being taken away.

The folks are not the tyupical "perverts that we read so much about - they have Bible studies and acknowledge their sins far more readily that do the "holier than thous" we hear so much from. They love the concept of America and do not engage in the homosexual's agenda to destroy the fabric of society. The man from Honduras is a doctor and he is very astute on how the government is becoming banana-republic out of control and lawless. All-in-all, it was a pleasant way to spend the 4th.

So you packed up and moved to the Philippines huh? I’m glad my ancestors stayed and fought for this country and made it free and strong. I am willing to stay and fight again.

I have gay friends, lesbian friends, black friends, Asian friends, etc.,...what I don’t much have anymore is Liberal friends (by choice). Lots of people in ‘minority’ groups are still Conservative. They just aren’t recognized (or wanted) by the Powers that be in this country today.

I think the answer is that yes, some states will be free by seceding from the union, but as a whole the nation is to far gone and is no longer a republic but has become an oligarchy, a government of the rich and powerful, for the rich and powerful and by those, in congress, the administration, the courts, the police and the press, who serve the rich and powerful, an oligarchy.

I have a theory that the human race isn't really conditioned to be "free" at all -- at least in the practical, worldly applications of it. There's a reason why free societies eventually collapse, usually after they are well advanced by any measure.

Just look around you for manifestations of this. I look around and I see a country filled with people who want someone else to do everything for them. And if they're willing to admit it, they want to be told what to do. The "natural" progression of a modern society doesn't result in freedom at all -- it culminates in smoking bans, ObamaCare, and a 911 emergency system where assistance for anything of consequence is just a phone call away.
