Boehner: Why we must now sue the President
cnn.com ^ | July 6, 2014 | John Boehner

Posted on 07/06/2014 7:44:52 AM PDT by Las Vegas Dave

Editor's note: Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, is speaker of the House of Representatives. The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of the author. (CNN)

-- Every member of Congress swore an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So did President Barack Obama. But too often over the past five years, the President has circumvented the American people and their elected representatives through executive action, changing and creating his own laws, and excusing himself from enforcing statutes he is sworn to uphold -- at times even boasting about his willingness to do it, as if daring the American people to stop him. That's why, later this month, we will bring legislation to the House floor that would authorize the House of Representatives to file suit in an effort to compel President Obama to follow his oath of office and faithfully execute the laws of our country. The President's response: "So sue me."

Ugh.

Wooden cigar store Indian moves!

What sort of minute critter crawled inside the wooden cigar store Indian’s alimentary canal, to make him do this?

Why NOW? Why not MONTHS AGO?

That’s what they do: talk. And it seems to work for them. The ability to distract, confuse and dissemble are key success factors for politicians. Just saying.

Is this a joke or what!

Boehner and his merry band of clueless clowns in the GOPe are the joke. But their schtick seems to be working for them. They keep getting re-elected.

Boehner's lawsuit against the Administration is nothing but a stunt to fool the ignorant and gullible. If Boehner wanted to oppose Obama's lawlessness and unconstitutional actions he would exercise the Constitutional power that Congress already possesses. Only the House of Representatives can originate funding bills, so without funding by the lower house the government has no money to operate. And on that score, Boehner has opposed every Conservative attempt to withhold specified funds -- so in truth Boehner supports Obama's agenda. When his "lawsuit" fails, Boehner will shrug his shoulders and cry "See, I tried. But the courts didn't side with us."

And Lynn Westmoreland (R, GA-3) supports this imposter. It makes me wonder what dirt they collected on Lynn back when he was a Conservative.

Yeah, and if Obama keeps it up, Boehner’s gonna write another letter!!

And Obama better not get him mad again, or Boehner will write a letter again, and after that, look out!! Boehner’s really gonna write a letter, man.

“Can’t he just be arrested for criminal acts?”

Eric Holder will get right on that.

“Why is Boehner still in this position?

Because politics is like a pond: the scum rises to the top.

Obama and Boehner are both members of that predominant, resident tribe running Washington, DC – the Sosuhmee

Sir, the following is a quote from “Answers”:

..............”Nixon resigned to avoid being impeached; the Judicial Committee of the House had already agreed to it, and it looked likely that the Senate would convict him if the impeachment went ahead.”.............

You are partially correct though. Several Republicans met with Nixon and not only told him he would be “convicted” if impeached but that many republicans would vote for it including the ones sitting in front of him at the meeting. Contrast that to the scum Democrats today who quite literally would not vote convict Obama if there was a video of him committing murder.

2. Power of the purse (gutless reps gave it away)
3. Article V (launched and ongoing; gives hope)

Contrary to all these posts below, I think this might, finally, accomplish something by way of reigning in the tyranny from the Oval Office by the Great Pretender. Why don’t we see if there is actual follow through.

Geeze, cry me a river.

Besides drinking and maintaining his orange tan, all Boner did for the last 5 years is maintain a firm grip on his ankles and look up between his legs as the Kenyan mistake raped him and usurped more and more congressional power.

What did you de-fund, Johnny Boy? What did you present as a reasoned response to insane executive orders? Nada.

So now you want to snivel and sue. We’ll believe it when we see it. For now, you need to be content with your place as the second turd in the American punchbowl behind the Kenyan communist. May you soon circle the drain together.
