With arrest of six Jews in Arab teen’s killing, Israel confronts its own extremists

JERUSALEM — Israel reckoned with rising homegrown extremism Sunday as it arrested six Jewish suspects who are believed to have burned to death an Arab teenager in revenge for the killing of three Israeli teens.

The arrests shocked those on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian divide — Palestinians because many had assumed Israel would never act against its own, and Israelis because there had been widespread doubt that Jews could have carried out such a heinous crime.

Sunday’s action could help defuse what has been seen as a dangerous swelling of Palestinian anger, with violent protests in East Jerusalem and Arab towns in northern Israel feeding fears of a budding intifada. Demonstrators who have called for an uprising against the Israeli occupation have decried the lack of justice and had bitterly predicted that 16-year-old Mohammad Abu ­Khieder’s killers would never face trial.

But by arresting the suspects, who were said by security officials to have killed Khieder for ­“nationalistic” reasons, the Israeli government must confront ­extremist elements within its ­society. . .

Strong actions taken against the Hamas leadership is totally justified...but the torture and murder of this Arab boy was a horrific misdeed and should be punished with a life sentence or even a death sentence.

Hamas needs to be wiped out! Gaza needs to be re-taken along with all other so-called occupied territories and all should be annexed. Any that wish to remain must be driven out if they will not pledge loyalty to the Jewish state..it’s past time to remove the poison from inside Israel.

If a school full of Jewish children were murdered by Palis the world would still tell Israel don’t unleash hell upon the Palis so full of anti-semitism much of the world is.

Israel must kill the terrorists who murdered the Jewish children and come to understand that the settlers were likely acting under wartime duress after being victimized and oppressed by the Islamic terrorists.

oh ..so now that a few Israelis decided to do what was done to their Jewish teens - and target an Arab teen ...we need to have a serious discussion on Jewish Extremism...Really?

Least we forget Washington Post - Islamic aggression is far and wide spread - they kill Christians by the dozens on a daily average - but never have I seen or read an article about why the Islamic Community needs to have a serious sit down and talk about the extremism within Islam....
