More than half of legal and illegal immigrant households from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras are on at least one form of public assistance, according to an analysis of government data by a limited immigration group.
Based on the Census Bureau’s March 2013 Current Population Survey, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reports that most legal and illegal immigrant heads of households from these three countries received benefits from at least one major benefit program like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), food stamps (SNAP), free/reduced lunch, public/subsidized housing, and/or Medicaid.

Levin is giving an outline of what it takes to get a work permit in Honduras, El Salvador etc. Have any of you ever tried to get a work permit somewhere outside the US... anywhere? Anybody? I have, it is a royal PITA. Funny, every single other country in the world wants to make sure that you can support yourself or someone will support you other than the taxpayers of the country. Lose your support, lose your ability to earn money and out you go. How? Well, your return airline ticket has to be bought and on your person at all times before you can get your work permit.
Check it out.... I use Sam’s. Pick any country and look at the requirements. These examples have been translated by Sam’s to plain language. If you go to the State Department site for any country you are mostly wasting your time trying to understand it. Which is why I use Sam’s.
