Democratic U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim to serve in Congress, said a report that the National Security Agency and FBI were tracking the email of five prominent American Muslims is “troubling because it suggests that Americans were targeted because of their faith and civic engagement.”
Documents leaked by former government contractor Edward Snowden revealed that the Muslim attorneys and activists were targeted for surveillance from 2002 to 2008 under a program meant to uncover terrorists and foreign agents, according to an analysis from online news organization The Intercept.
Among the documents released were training materials that used the name “Mohammed Raghead” as an example of a terrorist suspect.
“Profiling based on religion breeds distrust and resentment in communities that are potential partners in the fight against crime,” Ellison said.
“Muslim-Americans continue to face bigotry and hatred, but the NSA’s former spying practices undermine our entire nation’s progress towards greater inclusion....”

Representative Ellison is a Muslim, and I find that troubling. Islam is the mortal enemy of Western civilization, and has been for nearly fourteen centuries. There will never be an amicable melding of our cultures. Muslims are rapacious and very much determined to dominate the world just like the NAZI’s and the Bolsheviks. Their madness and cruelty will make the aforementioned two look like rank amatuers.

Muslim-Americans should try vigorously speaking out against terrorism and violence perpetrated by Muslims and should make great efforts to try to get Islam to reform. That ought to go a long ways towards convincing people they shouldn't be lumped in with the bad guys.
It is true that the government is spying and eves dropping with little regard to the Constitution. It is also true that many groups within the Muslim community have do and will in all likelihood continue to support terrorist organizations and as such some scrutiny will of course be drawn their way.

They should either convert or be driven out of the country. Every mosque should be bulldozed down.
