Military officers testified that there was no “stand-down order” that held back military assets that could have saved the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans killed at a diplomatic outpost and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya. Their testimony undercut the contention of Republican lawmakers.

Maybe it wasn’t verbally stated “stand down” but something
amounting to it was given. They were told not to interfere

Denial of requests for security were a dereliction of duty. The lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack were fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority. The inaction during the attack was something more than that.
The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.
ONE man had the authority to act that night.

Here is a third way a "stand down" policy was implemented IMO.

Four people wouldn’t have been enough to defend the Benghazi location.
So these 4 were told to remain in place / stand down and maybe they wouldn’t have been much help.
Why were there no planes sent from wherever we were in the Mediterranean area? Even if they hadn’t been able to do anything, why weren’t they scrambled? The fight went on all night.

This is all Clintonian wordplay and misdirection. I presume the US military has air, ground, and sea Special Forces teams positioned near hot spots and ready for emergency combat operations, especially on anniversaries of 9-11. The four trainers in Tripoli were brave men who wanted to help because the command structure wasn’t. They are irrelevant to any stand down order that actually matters here. The Obama administration waited until the attacks were over, so that it was too late to do anything. I have to wonder if the administration was taken by surprise by the second attack only.
Here are questions the “investigation” and reporters are hiding while they debate “stand down” orders:
1) WAS THERE A “STAND UP” ORDER?
2) WHO GAVE IT?
3) IF NOT, WHY?
4) WERE THERE PRE-ESTABLISHED ORDERS FOR RESPONSE TO THIS SORT OF INCIDENT?
5) WHAT WERE THEY?
6) WERE THEY FOLLOWED?
7) IF NOT, WHY?
I am fed up with incompetent “investigators” and spin-doctors.
So our two dead SEALS (you know the ones with’big balls’) did or did not disregard orders when they ... what; acted on their own initiative to save lives ? Why didn’t other ‘officers’ do the same?

What utter bull crap! Glen Doherty ignored that order, chartered a private plane on his own and arrived at the CIA complex just as Ty Woods and his team got back to it from their unapproved mission to save personnel at the consulate compound. Just as the jihadis began their attack on the CIA complex. He had time to fight alongside Ty Woods and others for several hours before the two of them were killed.
Astute observation. Of course I feel that Gowdy and the Select Committee has been set up to fail from the beginning. Boehner is just pandering to conservatives trying to show that he is doing "something" about Benghazi. I believe Gowdy knows this and he is just being the "good soldier" for the cause.
The absence of a "stand down" order is not the same as the receipt of a "go" order. Semantics yes, but the Regime is master of the spin.

Thank you. I just searched back through several pages of FR’s keyword ‘benghazi’ The one subject that is noticeably absent are stories about the survivors. I know for a fact that I could search that archive all the way back to the day of the attack and not find more than a handful of articles about them. The coverup of Benghazi is monumental. Pray that Trey Gowdy cracks it wide open.
First off, there is no such ting as a “stand down order”.
Second, there is ONLY a cross border authority order, and only the President can give it. Without such as order the troops must continue to stand down.
Obama never gave the CBA.
