WASHINGTON – Top Republican Rep. Darrell Issa Friday accused the State Department of trying to repeatedly dodge congressional efforts to look into the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman sent a 37-page letter to the newly-created House Select Committee on Benghazi detailing attempts he claimed were made to sidestep providing documents and answering questions about the attack from September 2012 until May 2014. Issa said the State Department promised to cooperate with Congress but failed to actually provide information requested and missed many

I suspect that writing a 37-page letter, which won’t likely even be read, is a waste of time. CA people can’t find good politicians, it seems.

If it’s written in cursive, not one dim will be able to read the contents. We are so screwed.

The House Select Committee may response as this’ TLDRY; meaning, Too Long, Didn’t Read Yet. Then what Daryl? Another sternly worded letter? Maybe I’m being too hard on Mr. Issa. I don’t know. I just want the ‘evil-doers to be named, shamed and detained. Is that asking too much? The Dems would have done so years ago without any great tome letter works.

Issa’s real keen on writing letters hah?

Probably not even a strongly worded one at that.

Issa showed his true colors when he said they wouldn’t go after everyone sent IRS emails. He wants to get famous, make a show, and have little to show for it but his grimace on TV. The guy is a waste.

Don’t be too hard on Issa. He may have put some capital letters in that 37 pager.

Issa reminds me of a little kid that stirs a hole in his mashed potatoes to give you the impression that he has eaten some.

I’m glad he’s keeping after it - with all the other “scandals” (crimes) such as the IRS, I was afraid that Benghazi had gotten lost.

This is very detailed and shows that the committee probably has information from other sources that is enabling them to know or surmise exactly how uncooperative and deceitful the State Dept is being in this. I still don’t think they’ll cooperate, but at some point, if Issa keeps this up, they’re bound to slip up and somebody will talk.

I think what the State Dept and Obama are hoping is that if they drag it out, the GOP will lose the House in November (very possible) and that then all these investigations will go away.

The time is far past the point of simply writing letters, holding useless inquires, being “shot the finger” by the criminals in office, receiving “wedgies” by the Democrats and spewing a lot of “hot air” and wringing hands in an attempt to actually make something happen.

I don’t think it’s any stretch of the imagination to suspect that NSA and other government agencies have “dirt” on every politician in office AND THEY KNOW IT.

The fact is that the more power and influence any politician acquires, more “dirt” attaches to their feet.

In general, politicians are not honest people for the reason they are generally in the political world is to gain wealth and to feed their narcissistic needs.

Issa can continue to do what he wants to do on the matter. The real investigation is with Trey Gowdy and The House Select Committee.
