Cruz: Border Crisis a Direct Consequence of Obama’s ‘Lawlessness’

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), speaking on the Senate floor Wednesday, called the border crisis a “direct consequence of President Obama’s lawlessness.”

“There’s one thing President Obama has said about what is happening that is absolutely correct – this is a humanitarian disaster, but it is a disaster of the president’s own making. It is a disaster that is the direct consequence of President Obama’s lawlessness. A quick review of the facts makes that abundantly apparent,” Cruz said.

Cruz cited the dramatic increase in the number of unaccompanied children who entered the United States illegally between 2012 - when President Barack Obama granted amnesty to some illegals – and 2014.

“In 2011, just three years ago, there were roughly 6,000 unaccompanied children apprehended trying to cross illegally into this country. Then in 2012, in the summer of 2012, right before the election, President Obama illegally granted amnesty to some 800,000 people who are here illegally who had entered the country as children,” Cruz said.

“The direct, predictable, foreseeable consequence of granting that amnesty is the number of children, unaccompanied children, immediately began to skyrocket,” he added.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), from fiscal year 2013 (26,206) to fiscal year 2014 (52,193) alone, there was a 99 percent uptick in the number of unaccompanied minors crossing illegally into the U.S. along the southwest border.

“This year, the estimates are that 90,000 unaccompanied children will enter the country illegally. That’s up from 6,000 just three years ago – 6,000 to 90,000. Next year, the estimate is 145,000. And this explosion is the direct consequence of the president’s lawlessness, and it’s worth underscoring: the people who are being hurt the most are these kids,” Cruz said.

It's a “no brainer” that O is lawless. It's tough at times to wrap our arms around what is happening to our nation. If the president is directly “lawless” then what needs to be done? The remedy for it Constitutional-wise is clearly written out but no one really wants to do anything about it

It could get a lot higher than that very quickly. Think of the millions of children around the world who can make the same claims of poverty and fear. Africa, China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia and on and on. If the BP is overwhelmed now what then?

Simple solution, the House needs to attach a provision taking away the POTUS’s discretion in granting whatever to illegals to the refuge spending bill that they are likely to pass.

Really make it illegal to let them stay here temporarily.

Also add to it a provision to let states like AZ enforce immigration law.

I understand what you are saying, but it is already illegal by US Law for the President and the Administration to be shipping these illegals anywhere in the US. It is against the law to transport Illegals. The law states they are to be deported.

This is why he should be impeached, he is actually breaking the law!

First thing is that is not what Cruz was saying. He was talking about Obama’s deferred amnesty for those who been here for years luring them over.

Regarding the current situation even FNC has been reporting that the Dem congress re-authorized a law in 2008 (yes, GWB signed it) that requires that all minor ‘refuges’ from those countries (doesn't include Mexicans) be taken care of by HHS until a immigration judge after a hearing determines that they will be safe if they are deported to their home country. So poor Obama has quite a mess on his hands. SOB, SOB.
