Huckabee, Perry and Romney look like they are running in 2016
American Thinker ^ | 07/15/2014 | Silvio Canto Jr.

Posted on 07/15/2014 6:45:17 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

At the start of the year, I told a friend to keep an eye on Mike Huckabee.  He just had the look of a man running for president.  After all, didn't Ronald Reagan write columns and do radio commentaries before running?

Last month, I was very happy to hear that Mitt Romney was considering another run.  Frankly, I think that he is one of the most qualified people ever denied the presidency.

Let me add another one - Governor Rick Perry of Texas.  We didn't see the real Perry in 2012 but we are seeing him now.

Over the last few weeks, Gov Perry has been at the forefront of the "kids on the border issue."   He represents people who are directly impacted by the chaos on the border.

Over the weekend, Gov Perry moved beyond the border and wrote a column about President Obama's foreign policy.  It was strong.   He challenged isolationism and he is right:

"As a veteran, and as a governor who has supported Texas National Guard deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can understand the emotions behind isolationism.

Many people are tired of war, and the urge to pull back is a natural, human reaction.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where isolationist policies would only endanger our national security even further."

Gov Perry also took on Senator Rand Paul's view of the world.  He also aligned himself with President Reagan's foreign policy - the projection of strength and maintaining a strong defense.

Gov Perry also has his Texas' economic record to talk about.  Frankly, a lot of Americans may want to hear how Texas does it in 2016.

At least Bob Dole had the decency to step down from Senate leadership and make it a real go of it - his campaign. As old guard Republicans go, I didn’t have a problem with him, other than he was way outmatched for the perverse nature of this country and its self-destructive tendancies.

He was a soldier. Horribly wounded with years of recovery behind him and I think that he was honorable.

The Republican Party elitists have nothing, NOTHING like that now - even John McCain.

I look at it this way. At least HE had the balls to go on TV and hawk Viagra for his ED. You won’t see one damned on of them insane crazy poofters in the GOPe EVER do that now.

Burn the party down and start over. I don’t care about a Senate majority now. I want revenge.

I agree 100%. I’m just getting tired of holding my nose and pulling that GOPe loser lever.

What? No Jeb?

Might as well throw him in this goulash as well!

Yeah. I forgot about Jeb. Only because I’m trying very hard to forget about Jeb. Throw in Newt and you’ll have an even half-dozen sure losers.

I’ve had many arguments with my wife who watches FoxNews nearly every night after work (I’ve sworn that crap off).

She and I have argued, especially about the Georgia Senate race here to support traitor Chambliss. I believe neither of the two runoff candidates will keep illegals out of this country. One is CoC bought and the other is a Boehner goose-stepping subordinate.

I have finally convinced her that it has to get much worse before it could think about getting better. I will NOT vote for anyone I know in my heart will betray conservatism and sovereignty. Not ever. She’s finally convinced. Neither of us will vote in the runoff next week.

“...it has to get much worse before it could think about getting better.”

I’m afraid it will get a lot worse, bigtime.

Realize that. However, it will not get better with a GOPe candidate - EVER.

If the author of this piece thinks Romney is one of the most qualified people ever denied the presidency, I would be very interested to know exactly WHY he is a Republican rather than a Democrat.

We are standing on the shore watching the water recede a lot farther and quicker than normal; what does that mean? It means a tidal wave is coming and if you have any instinct for survival, you will PREPARE by heading for high ground NOW.

What we are seeing here is the water receding, warning us what's coming in the near future. We need to understand NOW that what is headed our way is another replay of 2012 in terms of the Presidential race being the equivalent of getting to make the crucial, important distinction between Coke and Pepsi -- which one is healthier? Which one is better?

Neither -- they are both junk. So are Republicans and Democrats when BOTH habitually default to the philosophical approach of more government force, whether it's requiring that teen girls in Texas schools get Gardasil "vaccines" (Perry) or advocating for government-run health care (RomneyCare, the grandfather of Obamacare). It is the BASIC PREMISE that both these guys and countless other Republicans operate from, that calls for government the same as Democrats but tweaked just a little to look "Republican."

Americans, conservatives, limited-government moral Christian Americans, should start heading for high ground NOW and planning to salvage America some other way, such as voicing NOW a desire for a true Second-party candidate such as Palin or Cruz on an Indie ticket, for one that offers the healthy equivalent of plain Iced Tea to junk-juice Coke (Republican) or Pepsi (Democrat).

There is ZERO ZILCH NADA to lose by rejecting the Democrat AND the Republican at the ballot box, there is AMERICA to lose if we stand slack-jawed hoping that the wave will miraculously stop before it reaches us, and everything to win by voting "third" (actually, SECOND) party. Even if our candidate loses, we have a good chance of denying whichever liberal wins, the Republican or the Democrat, a mandate, which is a step in the right direction.

The handwriting is on the wall, and it's been there since 2012. It is sickening how many Republicans refuse to read it.

This is what’s really scary:

“The danger to America is not Barry-boy 0bummer, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an 0bummer presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Barry-boy 0bummer, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack 0bummer, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”

This might not be be fixable.

Romney would be OK if he were ANY kind of conservative. But he’s not.

Another Romney run would finish off what’s left of the Republican Party.

I understand and to some extent, the throngs of ‘entitled’ will be a problem. Any given urban area is three or four days away from disaster if not replenished. When the deliveries stop and the EBTs don’t get recharged, there will be massive rioting.

But they can’t riot everywhere. And that is where separation, preparedness and self-protection comes in.

Talk about a recipe for a third second party.....

There. Fixed it for you.

Politically, the most powerful Republicans and Democrats belong to the same party that relies on government force to "solve" problems. That party goes by two names: Republican, and Democrat; it is like a cola soft drink that goes by the names Coke and Pepsi.

We need a SECOND party that advocates for LESS government to "solve" problems. And yes, this is a recipe for just that!!! {^)

Ya....help the libs stay in power.... That’ll teach ‘em a lesson, and then in about a million years your third party favorite can fix everything.

I got news for ya, G Larry. If Romney is in the White House, the libs WILL have stayed in power.

Wake up.

In a pounding-the-message-home sort of way, I hope the GOP-E does run with Mitt Romney a third time. I believe that will cause Palin, or Cruz, or Lee, or fill-in-name-of-genuine-conservative to run. And if that happens, we'll see a Reaganesque landslide and a statesman instead of a politician in the Whitehouse.

From your lips to God's ear! Amen!
