make um retired buses headed for the scrap heap. No one wants their kids in those buses afterwards.
I agree.
Good — when????
Exactly. Title 10 vs. Title 32 of the United States code of National Guard vs. Federal Military.
During Katrina, the fat, corrupt Governor Blanco (LA-D) ordered that US Federal Military go door to door, seize guns, and force people out of their homes.
Lt. Gen Russel L. Honoré told her to go to hell.
I don't think most people (or the media) realize how serious a national crisis this latest news event (Texas National Guard on the border) means.
Gov Perry could set in motion events that lead to the secession of Texas.
I am not joking.
Three years ago he said this, and before the latest crisis that Obama generated.
I am. The root of the question, I hope you can imagine, is just how are they going to stop the invasion? Is that their intention? Or do they merely expect to “help” the border patrol do more of the nothing they have been doing for years? Remember some years ago when the military went to the border and just “observed” and nothing else? They had to wait for the Border Patrol to come and they never did or were so slow it didn’t matter.
I’m afraid this is nothing more than window dressing or 1,000 more frustrated people who are gatherers of human debris that we pay to medicate, house, feed and favor with all manner of luxury light years away from where they come from.
Don’t even get me started about that fence. I’ve had this discussion many times with freepers who think a fence is THE answer. They cite the Great Wall of China and the Barrier Wall in Israel without bothering to pay attention to the significant differences.
The Great Wall of China took well over 300 years and 500,000 men to build. The United States is not quite 240 years old itself.
Israels separation barrier is approximately 400 miles long, which is one-third the length of the Texas border and one-fourth the length of the U.S. border. The terrain in Israel does not include 1200 miles of water. The barrier is primarily intended to prevent terrorist attacks.
Different purposes. Different terrain. Different resources. Different time periods.
Oh, and guess what’s going on in Israel with the Barrier Wall today? Fox News just did a segment on ... wait for it ... TUNNELS! Israel was taken completely by surprise to discover that Hamas has an extensive tunnel system.
Really? They were surprised that those who want to get past a fence would tunnel under it? Sorry, folks. A fence just redirects their focus. If they want in, they’ll find a way around a fence.
Landmines, drones, and manned security towers with shoot-to-kill orders would be more effective than a fence.
Will they have ammo this time?
The NG is already under the Governor’s direct command. Obama would have to nationalize them in order to take command. Even then, if he does it under Title 32, they’re still under state command. Title 10 is the only way for him to take command away from the state.
He also said that the National Guard was not equipped to aid immigrants crossing the Rio Grande.
I want the NG to stop them. Not aid them.
soetoro will nix it.
I’m not sure what they are supposed to do with all the people that are crossing
and walking up to the officials and turning themselves in. Once the cross the middle
of the Rio Grande they are in the US/state of Texas.
Allowing them to come forward and surrender poses many problems. Maybe a surrender
shouldn’t be allowed but rather take them back to the banks of the Rio Grande and cross them back over. Maybe give them a MRE meal and papers,
tell them to fill out the paperwork, submit, wait your turn and goodbye.
What is your thoughts on what should be done with them once they are on US soil?
“I think people are going to be disappointed. Perry himself has said illegals will need to be handed over to the feds.”
Then they’ll just be settled in here to be permanent drains on society.
Long night drinkin’ again?
;-)
Apparently it is necessary to restate my post:
“Whered you get that info? Obviously not from reading the Constitution” and certainly not in Article Four, Section 4, Clause 2.
Whole lot of “wishful personal interpretation” goin on.
In our conservative endeavor to save our dear America, it is important we not lower our discourse to that of misdirection the socialist saboteurs practice and adhere to what our Founding Fathers actually intended in the Constitution they wrote.
They are criminals so it is not a “civil matter”.
Thanks for the ping.
