As good as they think they are, they weren't a part of the heritage that built and sustained the United States.

You just alienated a WHOLE lot of folks who were IN the United States before it ever BECAME the United States!!!

I’d think that a couple of folks from the left coast would know the history a bit better.

The enemedia has their back.

Every day there is a new sob story in the Times.

Now they have advanced to instructing us that the problem is being solved: fewer coming over, freight trains going to be shut down, Mexico's southern border going to be closed, Central American governments trying to convince people not to come, and on and on.

How come I don't hear this anywhere else? (Except when the total prostitutes of the Democratic Party claim from their bully pulpit to the LIVs that the border is secure.)

When UNDOCUMENTED people work...they are just THAT ...UN documented... and are NOT paying taxes.

They pay SALES tax and VEHICLE taxes.

Just no INCOME taxes (If the employer is a criminal; too)

Big deal; they can't vote.

That all changed when Libtard judges decreed that illegals had the same "rights" to freebies distributed by the state as do legals and citizens.

It was BEFORE this.

It was when we decided to not require ANY work from our 'citizens' to receive money from gummint coffers. Money taken from workers by threat of force.

Wait, I forgot something: WSJ op-ed today says that it's our fault--not for letting it happen, but wait for it as they say--because of our unquenchable hunger for drugs.

Yes, the vast amounts of money destabilize the Central American countries and cause corruption and crime, and that's why the invaders can't help coming here.

Of course being the Libertarian Bible, they also sneak in a little hint that the baddy old war on drugs is also to blame.

Oh yes, and the obligatory gibe at conservatives going nutso on the issue.

Ask me why I even read these papers.

Don’t kid yourself. A significant percentage of those crossing the border illegally are criminals. They come here to commit more crime. There are some good people seeking a better life. They don’t outweigh the criminals. They need to apply legally like everyone else. We cannot take everyone.

I don’t disagree with any of that. The question (and my point) is, who’s responsible for letting them in by the hundreds of thousands and even millions?

That’s where our anger should be directed.

If you leave the door of your house wide open with a wallet on the entry floor in a neighborhood known to have thieves criminals and lowlifes and homeless and hungry people and they come in to your house and you’re in there and and they take your wallet and other stuff while you just watch them (maybe even offer them lunch), who do you blame for your loss?

I would say it’s 99.99% your fault. Do you disagree?

And isn’t that what we’re doing with our border and our immigration “policy”?

“The problem is most Hispanics are hard working and thoughtful. In three generations they’ll be Republicans... and we’ll get the last laugh.”

I agree with that and that’s definitely not a problem.

One of the things that has made America exceptional is the type of people that make it up - immigrants who had to have enough initiative, courage and brains to make it in a new land, many without the benefit of knowing the language and facing discrimination when they got here.

They were and are risk takers, individualists, adventurers, entrepreneurs - the engine of america’s economy and culture.

Most of the new immigrants from Mexico and central and South America that come here illegally, because of their even greater struggles they have faced and overcome to get here will within a couple generations be the engine of the US economy.

Having said that, I am totally against illegal immigration because I value the rule of law, and I’m all in favor of closing down the border, assimilation and I despise multiculturalism.

“The ants are not to blame because they are instinct-driven insects.”

And most of the people coming here are needs-driven and if you were one of them in their situation and knew that you could go up north and get in and face no consequences other than positive ones, I’d venture to guess you would join them.

“They are to blame for willfully breaking our laws.”

What laws? The ones that Obama and the rest of our corrupt “government” willfully refuse to enforce? If we don’t enforce them why should they have any respect for our laws? We don’t even know what laws apply and don’t apply - they change everyday on a whim.

Remember this reality “You only own what you are willing and able to defend, by whatever means you have at your disposal”

What I’m suggesting with my post is that we need to focus our anger much more at our corrupt politician, bureaucrats and judges than the illegals. They’re just a symptom of the corruption.

“First of all, you didn’t ask me a question, therefore I’m avoiding nothing.”

You have poor short term memory... Here it is again.

“So GraceG, Vet, Alex, Graewoulf, lily if you were the speaker, how would you go about getting the MAJORITY of the people to love a government shutdown? Because that is what you’re expecting Boehner to do.”

“You said I am allowing invaders to illegally enter the country instead of we, so you make yourself sound like an outsider.”

You should read things more carefully... This is what I said as an analogy.

“No the correct analogy is you leaving the door open, food on the table, a welcome mat at the door, them coming in eating the food and you letting them do it and asking them if they want a second.

YOU are letting them do that.”

“And as another poster commented, ants are instinct driven insects, not free-willed thinking human beings. Therefore your analogy doesn’t work.”

See my response #55

“From your posts you are blaming American citizens for a foreign invasion instead of the invaders. Which makes you sound like a liberal, or a proud member of the GOP.”

You have trouble dealing with reality, don’t you?

Um, I’m not having short term memory problems, this is from another thread you were commenting on. As I said, you didn’t ask me anything.

Whose having short term memory issues?
