The divorce between filmmaker Michael Moore and his wife is bringing many details to surface, including that the two own nine homes in New York and Michigan, according to the Detroit News.
By reaching a settlement, Moore avoids a trial that could have aired dirty laundry common in high-proile breakups and impugned his long-hewn image as a common man by disclosing details of his comfortable life.
His hit movies and best-selling books have begat a lifestyle far from most ballcap-wearing, duck-waddling denizens of Flint.
Moore and Glynn own nine properties in Michigan and New York, including a Manhattan condo that once was three apartments. CelebrityNetWorth.com pegs their wealth at $50 million.

If there weren’t a sucker born every minute, Moore would be living under a bridge in Traverse City with Madonna’s brother.
The Left’s “tax the rich” meme is really a call for increased taxation of high wage earners. I think it’s time to eliminate the income tax (an immoral tax on labor) and replace it with a wealth tax. Fifty percent (50%) of all wealth over $1 million should do it. That would have an interesting and hilarious effect on Hollywood and Wall Street and would have full support from all wage earners, high or otherwise.

Moore said: “Really? Are you kidding me? Seriously? Wow. Where did it go?”

“You know, I had to pretty much beg, borrow and steal,” he said. “The system is not set up to help somebody from the working class make a movie like this and get the truth out there.”
“In fact, in Fahrenheit 9/11 if you remember, capitalism, the Disney Corporation, tried to kill that film—tried to make it so that people couldn’t see it,” said Moore. “My book Stupid White Men—Harper Collins tried to kill that book so that people couldn’t see it. It’s only because I put the light of day on it and told people what was going on did people get the chance to see these things.”

“Look, you know, I mean, I make documentary films,” said Moore. “So, clearly, I’m not loaded in the way you described. But I do well, obviously because my films do well.”
“So, that means I have an extra responsibility to make sure I spend my time trying to make things better for the people that don’t have what I have, right? I mean, everybody should do that,” he said.
I’d settle for a flat tax on consumption and no loopholes applied evenly to everyone.
I once met Rhonda the Rabbit Lady, one of the stars of his first film Roger & Me. She was slinging hash in a Kmart cafeteria.
Obviously Moore does not believe in spreading the wealth around.

Don’t be hoodwinked by his casual demeanour and capitalism rants – Michael Moore’s millions make him one of the richest men in American media.
Film-maker Moore, 60, made his name for anti-establishment politics with Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) and Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) – accruing a multi-million dollar fortune in the process.
Moore’s impressive property portfolio was laid bare during divorce proceedings from his wife of 22 years, Kathleen Glynn.
The political controversialist finalised his split from 58-year-old Glynn on Tuesday in a US court in northern Michigan, where the couple owns a £1.2m lakeside home.
The 10,000 square-foot luxury pad is one of nine properties belonging to the couple, who wed in Flint, Michigan, in 1991.
Moore shares his time between his home state and New York City, where he owns a Manhattan apartment.
The couple did not disclose how their fortune would be divided, with Moore commenting on his Facebook page: “Kathleen and Michael have mutually and amicably reached a divorce settlement.”
In an ironic postscript, Moore added a clip of Bruce Springsteen’s Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) to the update. The divorce proceedings had been ongoing since June last year.
