Desperate candidates who are way behind in the polls take big swings hoping to hit political home runs.
Take Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, trying to hold onto his Congressional seat in Michigan’s 11th District. Being down 22 points against David Trott, he desperately needs to rally his troops by the August 5th primary. So his campaign e-mailed a fundraising pitch pushing the myth that the U.S. Chamber supports amnesty.
Rep. Bentivolio whiffed big time. The U.S. Chamber doesn’t support amnesty and never has.
Here is what the U.S. Chamber’ immigration reform priorities are:
Strengthening border security. Improving E-Verify system and employment verification. Ensuring the availability of workers of all skill levels—high-skilled, lesser-skilled, and agricultural workers--when employers experience labor shortages. Providing a means for undocumented workers to earn lawful status by getting a background check and paying any fines and back taxes owed.
Amnesty isn’t on this list.

This shows how desperate they are to get the stink of amnesty off their coats. It won’t work. Perdue proved that on Tuesday.
Curson’s win was in the old district before redistricting. He didn’t win because Taj was a Muslim. He won because his district had Redford, Westland, and Belleville, and Taj’s district did not have those areas. That is hard core UAW with a rapidly increasing black population in Redford.

In other words, they think that Conservatives are a gullible lot that can be lied to freely. These crony capitalists can bite me!
I agree. I just don’t think you replace a good guy with that job in the name of being a safer bet.

I think it would be the perfect lesson for the Tea Party-hating RINOs. I think it would end their war on us.
People in the district may, of course, feel it too heavy a price to pay.
I don’t think Bentivolio should run but I think Trott will lose anyway.
