The Obama administration, after initially resisting the idea, is weighing whether to deploy National Guard troops to the southern border to help address a surge of migrant youth from Central America, many of them unaccompanied, a White House official told CNN.
The Pentagon and the Department of Health and Human Services sent a team earlier this week to assess Border Patrol efforts in the Rio Grande Valley, the official said, where tens of thousands of children have poured into the United States this year.
The administration's latest efforts in what most agree is a humanitarian crisis come as Washington struggles to address the matter with little optimism for a solution before Congress breaks for its month-long August recess.

Nope, he’ll send ‘em to make sure no one gets in their way or tries to stop ‘em from getting here.
If the fool does send them to the border he should send them to New Mexico border because that is where they are crossing now they found out Perry has put troops on Texas borders..To bad moron didn’t stop his new voters before now since we will be fighting off disease when these kids start school.
The Guard will do nothing. Support is stupid. Need to be fully armed and patrol all border entry points. Order should be if shot at return hell fire. Perry, sorry but you have done literally nothing.
The ONLY reason Obama is even talking about this option is because his “it’s for the children” ploy didn’t work and most of America is tired of being overrun by illegal immigrants! Real America knows that his “recovery” is a joke setup by the propaganda of the MSM. They know there are no good paying jobs being created, so they are PISSED that Obama is allowing MORE illegals to come here, suppress our wages, and take what few jobs are left for the taking!
If the MSM had done a better job of propaganda on this subject for Obama, he wouldn’t have to ACT like he wants to end the illegal invasion!
Obviously NOT to strengthen the borders, but to eliminate those who are trying to strengthen them.

I doubt if Congress might once, this time, in view of all the problems, just cut the recess down, stay on the job longer?
i.e. Take a 2 week summer vacation, like others do if they are fortunate.
Maybe by doing so, they would be in positions, to tell Obama to stay on the job more, too.
Set an example for him.

Obama, when nothing else will do, he leads from behind.

Who ever he sends will have NO authority and NO order to stop or detain anyone. Bank on THAT!
And to make it worse, “O” will go down there and mug for the cameras with them AS IF it is a timely and effective step!
Is he going to send the National Guard out there with cork pop guns and forbid them to fire if attacked?
Will they be made to wear uniforms with targets painted on them?
