For anybody wanting to take a peek at the Winter 2014/15 forecast by Matt Holliday of Firsthand Weather (wonderful meteorologist and AGW sceptic), here it is (on Facebook), says Caroline in West Virginia.
Executive Summary: It’s gonna be cold.
And it will snow in various places.
I’m curious to see what both farmer’s almanacs say when they are published.
One half of the entire planet will be in darkness at any time for more than a year.
Well the Four Corners (Az,NM,UT,Co) say its going to be average. I will see what the farmer’s almanac says about that.
Tonight is forecast to be dark followed by scattered light in the morning.
If the Rock is:
DRY - It’s Fair
WET - It’s Raining
WHITE - It’s Snowing
WARM - It’s Warm out
COLD - It’s Cold out
ICY - It’s Sleeting
MOVING - It’s Windy
HARD TO SEE - It’s Foggy
CASTING A SHADOW - It’s Sunny
GONE - TORNADO !
What about Montreal? Please.
Says Al Sleet, your hippie dippy weatherman.
Never mind Montreal.
Come on over to New Mexico. We have outlaws, wild Indians, green chilis, Carlsbad caverns, aliens and crashed ufos.
PS, Bring some oranges. :)
Well I like to see the “Well above average temps” in the PNW but definitely not the “Very dry”. Low snowpack, drought problems, even worse wildfire problems next summer (the current fire mainly in Douglas County, Washington in the largest in WA’s recorded history).
Average temps and snowfall.
What about real men?! Only thing.that matters to me of late...
I did say outlaws and wild Indians. ;)
This sounds like a repeat of last winter.
New Englander here. Last Winter was truly horrible. Am giving serious consideration to moving to Northern Florida.
I just do not know how many more of these Winters I can take.
Time will tell.
Well the Four Corners (Az,NM,UT,Co) say its going to be average. I will see what the farmers almanac says about that.
I’m in the Four corners area. Thanks for the info.
Here in Broward county, home of the beloved dws, it rains every friggin day! Grass is getting high.
Broward county is in FL, right?
Just think-—if we didn’t have glowbull warming we’d all freeze next winter.
I still have one of those rocks. somebody made a lot of money on that rock. LOL
Real men -
1)will be going bald on top (all that testosterone)
2)Will have a beard because.. well because they are a man
3)Will be graying - it’s all that wisdom that does that
4)Will be carrying a weapon (make of that what you will)
That will probably include over half the mean on FR - me included LOL
Well thar lil missy... (in best John Wayne voice)
>What about Montreal? Please.
We just ordered a new wood Stove to replace the fireplace insert. It’ll be the middle of August before the installation is complete. For us that’s a great thing.
Temps last night got down to 55 in JULY? Not Bad, not bad at all nice sleeping weather.
And back on the Farm Business front, Alpaca socks for winter use are selling nicely. Now if we could get more of to start spun yarns, that would make my wife very happy.
Mid to upper FORTIES in Red Hampshire this morning...
Oh Crap! Looks like Wisconsin is in for another tough winter.
Does anyone someplace in Arizona have room for two old people?
More evidence of Climate Change!
In the Midwest, we call it “Seasons.”
Thank you, Al Sleet. The Hippy-Dippy Weatherman.
Bastardi has been saying this forecast for about 6 months now.
I couldn’t stand the snowy real cold climate. We don’t have it bad here in Eastern Washington. Gets too hot for a couple of weeks in the summer though.
Lol! I picked one out and said this will be my weather rock after this series of posts.
Thanks for the executive summary.
I remember 76/77/78 as a real cold stretch here in the Great Lakes area. I had a big GMC van and had to put a blanket behind the front seats to try and keep enough warmth in the driver area, LOL.
This could be a similar time, very cool summer so far.
