Kansas court overturns Carr brothers' death sentences

The Kansas Supreme Court has overturned the death sentences of two brothers convicted of capital murder in the shooting deaths of four people whose bodies were found in a snow-covered Wichita soccer field in 2000.

The state Supreme Court on Friday also struck down three of the four capital murder conviction each against Jonathan and Reginald Carr. But it upheld one capital murder conviction each.

Their cases will return to Sedgwick County District Court for further hearings and a new sentencing.

The court's majority overturned the death sentences because, it said, the presiding judge failed to have separate proceedings for each brother.

Amazing that one of the most heinous crimes in recent years - a crime that usually is known as “The Wichita Horror” - and some dumbass judges vacate the death penalty in the case. Further proof that libs are evil and want to destroy the very fabric of our society.

Something to ponder...we have around a dozen people on death row in Kansas, since the death penalty was re-instated 20 years ago. None have been executed - and we haven’t had an execution since 1965 - 49 years.

BTW, the state does not currently possess any of the drugs used in lethal injection.

So the death penalty doesn’t really mean much in Kansas, quite frankly. A death sentence is really a life sentence, interrupted by an occasional court proceeding.

If these filth don’t qualify for the death penalty, who does? And if it’s not going to be applied in a timely manner, why have it?

Once again, we have a government defying the wishes of the people. Kansas wants these animals dead. But some judge somewhere doesn’t. Guess who rules?

“The court’s majority overturned the death sentences because, it said, the presiding judge failed to have separate proceedings for each brother.”

Ridiculous. If they are tried again, they will be convicted of each on of those murders - and the other one they committed before that. The evidence was so overwhelming the first time around.

Shoot them repeatedly (small caliber...non lethally). Then draw, quarter and hang the pieces.

Everybody should make their loved ones aware of those atrocities; they were particularly brutal, and fear of such acts should cause the most liberal whites to think twice before exposing themselves to such people.

I know the victims weren’t reckless; it was a home invasion.

Yep. At least Perry and Hickock didn’t rape the women before killing them. The Carr brothers did.

Maybe the other prisoners will see that justice gets meted out to them unlike this POS judge.

Why would a prison full of the same POS as the Carr brothers mete out justice to them? They are probably celebs in prison.

I think you’d be surprised. There is a hierarchy even in prison and sometimes vigilante justice gets served. To child molesters especially and sometimes rapists.

So... they get a new hearing & sentencing, but no new trial?

They also overturned three of four convictions. The state would have to retry those. But with only one capital murder conviction left I don't think they can execute them.

They're on death row right now. With only one capital conviction left they go back into general population. They might wind up around some white supremacists who didn't like what they did to those women. We can always hope, can't we?

This really TICKS ME OFF! The since KS Supreme Court is packed with liberals and has been out of control for some time, I can’t say that I am surprised though. The Carr brothers should have been dead a long time ago. It makes me sick to think that these two monsters are still breathing.

6 voted to overturn, and only one dissented. That’s what you get when you get a court packed by Sebelius and the RINOs who came before her.

They didn’t just rape the women. They made the guys in the house rape them too, among other horrors. It was a sick, sick, sick crime! I can’t even bring myself to read about it again, but is etched in my mind forever from reading about it when it happened.

I feel so sad for the survivor. This must be very painful for her that the KSSC has taken it upon themselves to make sure these monsters do not get the justice they deserve and that they were sentenced to.

On the savage-o-meter scale, these murders were about a 9.9 out of a 10. These two animals, earned, their death sentences.

No doubt, the Holder justice system at work here...

That's Hollywood mythology that there is some kind of code of honor amongst inmates. It plays well on screen in films like Shawshank... but in reality, the overwhelming majority of rapists and child molesters live to serve out their sentences. The inmates who get raped and assaulted largely consist of white college kids busted selling drugs and middle-aged guys who led law-abiding lives until they got drunk behind the wheel and killed someone.

Prisons are filled with violent predators like the Carr brothers and they're the ones meting out abuse to the other inmates.

google Wichita Massacre.

The Witchita Massacre and the Petit Home Invasion are possibly the two most horrific crimes I can think of and deservedly, all four murderers in both crimes received the death penalty.

If these guys don't get executed, there's really no point in even having a death penalty.

If a daughter or son of mine had been victims of these savages, I would pray for their release, so that I could kill them my self...slowly.

Because there are so many savages like these, and because the justice system worries more about their rights than those of law abiding citizens, I am always armed. Even while sitting around at home, my .38 is always in my pocket.
