Fighting intensifies near MH17 crash site
The Daily Mail Online ^ | July 27, 2014 | Associated Press

Ukrainian armed forces mounted a major onslaught against pro-Russian separatist fighters Sunday in an attempt to gain control over the area where a Malaysia Airlines plane was downed earlier this month.

Reports of the intensifying unrest prompted a postponement of a trip to the site by a team of Dutch and Australian police officers that had planned to start searching for evidence and the remaining bodies.

In Washington, the State Department released satellite images which it says show that Russia has fired rockets more than seven miles (11 kilometers) into eastern Ukraine.

The images, from the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, show blast marks from where rockets were launched and craters where they landed. They are said to show strikes between July 21 and July 26....

Local media reported fighting also taking place in the towns of Snizhne and Torez, the two nearest mid-sized towns to the crash site....

Ten days after the disaster, a full-fledged investigation still has not begun at the crash site, with some bodies still unrecovered and the site forensically compromised.

It remained unclear when the forensic experts from the Netherlands and Australia would be able to begin their work at the site.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said in a statement that his country would send dozens of police and that his country had received assurances from pro-Russia separatists that they would provide protection for investigators.

The Malaysia Airlines disaster prompted some expectations in the West that Russia would scale back its involvement in the uprising in Ukraine's east, but the opposite seems to be the case.

In addition to producing evidence that rockets have been fired into Ukraine from Russia, the United States has said it has seen powerful rocket systems moving closer to the border.

Please tell me if our “treaty” with the Ukraine was ever ratified by the Senate.

If not, then please stop using the word “treaty” to describe another piece of Clinton BS.

I know that you have no reading comprehension skills if your response was what you got out of my post.

I saw you accusing someone of supporting Obama. Dimitry, we all know this is rule number one for Putinistas on this forum, except on liberal websites (they blame McCain?).

The Russian side in this matter is neither pro- or anti-American.

Why doesn't Porkyshenko declare a ceasefire until this crash site is cleaned up? He seems to be doing the opposite.

The action getting a little too intense for you over there, McGruff -- you need a cease fire???

Are the Russian rebels losing ground and in danger of losing control of the MH17 site???

The only hope of the investigators getting to that site is for the Kiev army to move in and take it from the rebels outright.

The rebels have been playing cat and mouse with the bodies and hide and seek with the evidence for 10 days and the international investigators know it and so do you.

President Obama told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he wants an “immediate, unconditional humanitarian” cease-fire in the war with Gaza,

Why not call for one in Ukraine?

Because the Russian-backed rebels will honor a cease fire with the same diligence that Hamas in Gaza does -- and Russia will still fire artillery over the border during the cease fire won't they???

Have you seen Sapper and Bezler lately??? Are they okay???

You need to get your eyes checked then. If that is what you saw from my post, you need to get a seeing eye dog, your eyesight is already gone.

My wife would say it makes you smart if you disagree with me. But that is another story. Looking back, I should not have used the adjectives I used to describe Obama supporters. They have the same right to support him as I do not to support him. To answer your question, I would say no, disagreeing with me does not make you an Obama supporter.
