The latest critique circulating among opponents of the package is that Rebecca Tallent, a former staffer to Senator John McCain (R. Ariz.) who currently works for House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio), has played a significant role in drafting the Granger proposal.

“[Tallent] is writing the House plan for Kay Granger,” a well-placed congressional source. “She more than almost anyone has her fingerprints on President Obama’s immigration plans and is very close with the amnesty community, with the White House, with Democratic offices.”

Any lawyer repping illegals (1) should be referred to the state Bar Association
for future disbarment, and, (2) have his/her license to practice law challenged.

Every lawyer is an officer of the court and should know, that the US justice system
does not dispense justice to litigants who come to court w/ "unclean hands"---

We shouldn’t take out our wrath on this issue alone on every Republican. There are many issues where Republicans stand strong other than this one. And I would counter your argument that so, so many of these 80% agreement Republicans follow lock-step to Boehner and McConnell in their unceasing appeasement and capitulation to Democrats.

These people, at least in the Senate are masters of show-voting. Vote for cloture on a bill to bring it to the floor before it can be stopped and then vote against it in a hopeless plurality vote and then trot home to say “I voted against it.”

Boehner also engineers his version of Cloture votes. He gives dispensation to selected representatives who may undergo voter wrath on a particular vote - AS LONG AS HE HAS OTHER VOTES to win his plan.

Just went through the PDF (quick read) and these folks are delusional.

Part of the damn thing sets quotas for importing refugees.

Parts of it are utterly unenforceable such as “the parent has submitted to a mandatory biometric criminal history check;” because most of them have already been released to whomever and are now GONE.

It appears that this is a setup for long term direct importation of illegal aliens.

‘‘(ii) MONITORING.—If an unaccompanied alien child described in clause (i) is between 15 and 18 years of age and the Secretary of Health and Human Services determines that such child is not a danger to self, a danger to the community, or a risk of flight, the child shall ‘‘(I) enroll in the alternative to detention program of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and ‘‘(II) continuously wear an electronic ankle monitor while his or her immigration case is pending.”

They are not showing up now to the tune of > 80% so just how long will that “electronic ankle monitor” last?

“(d) FAILURE TO APPEAR.—The Director of the Executive Office for Immigration Review shall track the number of unaccompanied alien children who fail to appear at a removal hearing (>80%) that they were required to attend; and make the information described in paragraph available to the public on a quarterly basis. “

They already know these numbers.

It is over 80%.

This entire “Act” is a scam to MANDATE importing illegal aliens directly from the south.

They will start with 15,000.

Next year? The year after that, how many?

The “Act” only states the amount for 2014 to 2015.

they have asked him why the CIS don’t ask the illegal aliens if they are in a gang and now Louie is grilling Rodriguez on the drug smugglers ..

I was able to watch the C-span hearing rebroadcast. Cong/men Jason Chaffetz, Louis Gohmert and Randy Forbes were standout patriots, protecting Americans from the invading hordes at the border.

The lock-stepping Gonzalez gets grade A for Evasion and for loyally following orders from the Commandant in the WH.

Did you notice? when Democrats questioned him he knew everything and responded in great detail. But to Republicans he whined about being new to the jobs---and parroted "gotta get back to you on that."

Cong Gohmert stopped the show with his probing judicial-like queries---the former judge's prodigious knowledge of the law was awesome---as well as his ability to nail Gonzalez to the wall. WRT drug cartel guiding the hordes over the birder---"Would you call them criminals?," he asked Gonzales. Making the point that if the hordes were coming here to escape drug cartels, why is it they pay the violent breed to get over the border?

Gonzales made a show of his legal bgrnd---but he paled agaimst Goehmert's expertise.

Gonzales, as a former prosecutor and officer of the court, should know that the US justice system is not amenable to dispensing justice to litigants w/ "unclean hands"---a legal term meaning those who have committed crimes. His license to practice law should be pulled.

Sad to see Jason Chaffetz's resignation, knowing we would get nowhere with the lock-stepping Gonsalez----prostrate in obeisance to Obama---his lips pressed firmly to the WH behind.
