MH17 Missile Can't Hide From These Internet Sleuths
The Daily Beast ^ | August 2, 2014 | Eliot Higgins

Posted on 08/02/2014 7:02:07 AM PDT by Uncle Chip

Over the last two weeks I’ve documented the various open source information that has revealed key pieces of information about the Buk Missile Launcher linked to the downing of flight MH17.

Now, using that information, I believe it’s possible to construct a timeline of events on the ground in Ukraine on July 17th that can be evidenced using a variety of open source information.

To begin with, lets review the photographs and videos of the Buk Missile Launcher which appear to have been taken on the day of the attack, in chronological order. All times are approximate....

The photograph was in fact taken in the town of Donetsk, and based off the shadows visible in the photograph, it was taken some time in the morning, roughly 9am.

We also learnt from this image that the truck belonged to a rental company in the city of Donetsk, with the owner of the truck, contacted by Paris Match, claiming the truck had been stolen by pro-Russian rebels.....

Based on the above information alone it seems impossible to deny that the rebels were transporting a Buk Missile Launcher through the region on the same day as the downing of flight MH17.

It also demonstrates the Buk was transported from Donestsk, through Torez, while still on the transporter. As yet there’s no images showing the Buk on the transporter in Snizhne, but based on the apparent destination of the Buk spotted in Torez is seems reasonable to believe it was the same missile launcher....

Finally, we know a Buk missile launcher, minus at least one missile, and the netting seen in other locations pre-launch, was spotted in the rebel held town of Luhansk, and it seems reasonable to assume this was after the downing of MH17....

Nice try but you have to question the sources and timeline of the evidence you are using.

It seems to fit the sources and timeline that the author is not using.

I think that the Russian media has definitely stated that it was a gay, junta loving right sector Nazi riding a pink unicorn that strafed MH17 while Carlos the phantom Spanish controller illegally working at the Kyiv airport was being hustled into a fascist Ukrainian prison. How can you be so naïve to believe otherwise?

Often the simplest solutions are the most correct. What most people don't understand how ground air defense system works.

Many members of the Pro-Russian separatists were members of the Ukrainian military. They probably had a few deserters who were trained on the Buk systems and was using them to provide anti aircraft protection against the Ukrainian Air Force.

They were in an area that have been attacked by air for about a week. With no long range air defense tracking from Kiev or Moscow the crew would have to assume that any aircraft picked up on their radar was hostile. MH17 was passing through that airspace. Without any indication that it may of been a civil aircraft they assumed it was Ukrainian transport, bomber or recon and shot it down.

The buk crew relocated to either rearm or move to avoid any retaliatory artillery fire. No one knew that the bird was a civil airliner till later, after it crashed.

When it comes to reporting from war zones I doubt all sources reported by a biased media.

Thank you Mr. McGruff for posting that valuable information from RT. Without access to official state sponsored Russian media sources, the true story of how MH 17 was shot down would never come out. Who could be so foolish to believe that Russian fighters in Ukraine mistakenly shot down a passenger airliner thinking it was a Ukrainian military transport plane. The very idea is absurd.

Thank you again for your valuable service to FR, and indeed to our nation, for pointing out how everyone else is wrong about MH17, but Russian, and you and your friends here on FR are right.

Russians are retarded, but at least they do cling to winning WWII while we get Germans to run the US Army...

Why bother with RT's questions? Go straight to the source: Igor Girkin says dead bodies aren't "fresh."

No one has sufficiently answered the question why MH17 was loaded with corpses.

With no long range air defense tracking from Kiev or Moscow the crew would have to assume that any aircraft picked up on their radar was hostile.

But they did have a tracker --

And the tracker spotted the plane and when asked to identify it said that it was TOO HIGH to identify way up behind the clouds.

Now what flies along that commercial flightpath at an altitude TOO HIGH to identify???

Far too often in the fog of war the truth is the first victim. In this situation both Russian and Ukrainian hands are dirty. Neither side is defendable.

I just feel sorry for the victims and their families

This is not about any fog of war, although all the false stories, theories and explanations coming out of Russia are all about creating confusion. What happened to MH17 is clear: Russian fighters in Ukraine shot it down with a BUK missile supplied by Russia. End of story.
