Erased History: The aggressive effort to impeach George W. Bush
The Brenner Brief ^ | 8/3/14 | Rene Nal

Posted on 08/03/2014 6:59:09 PM PDT by Nachum

Not only did Democrats try to impeach George W. Bush during his presidency, they did so aggressively. While many have laughingly claimed that efforts to impeach President Obama are racist, or have blatantly lied by saying that there was no effort to impeach George W. Bush; history tells quite a different story.

One of the most egregious statements was made by Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who said in part,

We did not seek an impeachment of President Bush, because as an executive, he had his authority. President Obama has the authority.

Lee, who co-sponsored legislation to impeach George W. Bush, lied to her base, who won’t bother to research her statement. Lee echoed MSNBC contributor Jimmy Williams, who told Republican strategist Ron Christie in April that “no one threatened to impeach George Bush” on an episode of “Weekends with Alex Witt.”

Were they really that aggressive? Because I don’t remember hearing anything about that at all.

Of course they did, try to impeach and then lie that they didn’t.

They can't erase the Congressional Record, can they?
With an Executive Order maybe?
Hussein erased his entire life that way...

If they could of pulled it off he would of been gone. He made sure they voted on the war more than once. They read the same intelligence reports he did, he made sure of that as well, so that road was open to all of them but they knew they would lose.

The level of ridicule against George W. was insane. He was compared to a monkey. SNL and all the lib comedy shows went after him every night.

Obama has gotten basically a pass from any real criticism.

Everything isn’t his fault. He’s trying. Basically, the attitude you’d expect towards an Affirmative Action hire.

Of course they did, try to impeach and then lie that they didn’t.

The motion to refer the articles of impeachment of George W. Bush to the Judiciary Committee was approved 251-166 by a mostly party line vote, with the exception of 24 Republicans, who also voted “yes:”

1.Kevin P. Brady [R-TX]
2.Michael N. Castle
3.Lincoln Diaz-Balart
4.Mario Diaz-Balart [R-FL]
5.David T. Dreier
6.Vito J. Fossella
7.Rodney P. Frelinghuysen [R-NJ]
8.Wayne T. Gilchrest
9.Ralph M. Hall [R-TX]
10.Timothy V. Johnson
11.Walter B. Jones [R-NC]
12.Peter T. King [R-NY]
13.Steven C. LaTourette
14.Frank A. LoBiondo [R-NJ]
15.Donald A. Manzullo
16.Tim Murphy [R-PA]
17.Ronald E. Paul
18.James M. Ramstad
19.David G. Reichert [R-WA]
20.Christopher H. Shays
21.John M. Shimkus [R-IL]
22.Michael R. Turner [R-OH]
23.Heather A. Wilson
24.Frank R. Wolf [R-VA]

It should be noted that the motion, and the vote, was purely political, as they knew the resolution would die in the Judiciary Committee.

Kucinich is such a d-bag! My Country band played an auto workers picnic, and he was there. I think he might have been running against ultra douche George Forbes for the den nom for Cleveland mayor??? He had a greeting line set up. I’m 6’3”, and he’s about 5’4”. I grabbed his hand, pulled him close so he had to bend his neck, and told him I’d never vote for him! I’d like to get my hands on his wife though!

I’ve always marveled when the Progressives defend Obama saying nothing was his fault, it was all Congress. Yet, with Bush, everything was his fault as if Nancy and Harry didn’t run Congress during 2007-2009.

Yep I read that, and I must say that one of the Republicans on that list does surprise me, Frank R. Wolf [R-VA].

The rest don't.

I had a friend that I asked to stop emailing me forever, because he called Bush a monkey. Told him he was a stupid a-hole.

This may answer, "what's the point, if it's doomed to failure" meme?

The liberal, progressive, socialist, Soros crowd had no qualms about putting the impeachment attempt on the record.

What did they know that our current eunuch GOP Congress can't figure out?

I’m shocked and appalled if Ralph hall of Texas voted for that. He deserved to lose his seat if he did.

A glassy eyed Dem was on a Sunday morning news show spewing that then speaker Nancy Pelosi said she would not forward a bill to impeach Bush, so it never happened, the introduced bill disappeared. When Wallace said that Boehner said the same thing, the glassy eyed one claimed that the Speaker could not be trusted. At least the glassy eyed one could comment from memory. When I watch this crap, I worry about our ability to stem this propaganda. I know of only one way to end it.

RE:”Were they really that aggressive? Because I don’t remember hearing anything about that at all.”

Pelosi allowed them (Dem House members) to have their play hearings 2007 to 2008 to placate them but wouldn't let them bring impeachment to the floor,
Pelosi had a mission: to win again in 2008 and then pass a progressive agenda into law, and she did w Obamacare.

She wasn't letting a few house members and liberal groups screw that up.

Juan Williams: ‘Older,’ ‘Whites’ Want to Impeach Obama

Breitbart TV 3 Aug 2014 584 post a comment
On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Fox News political analyst Juan Williams suggested the political opposition to President Barack Obama could be rooted in racism because demographics representing the opposition indicate as much.

Williams said, “There’s lots of Republicans who think this man is a demon. This guy is awful. We got to get this guy out of here any way we can. He’s breaking the law.”

He continued, “You hear from Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann we use the impeachment word. No, we’re not talking impeachment that’s Democrats. Democrats are taking advantage of the fact that you demonized President Obama to this extent not only does it help them with fundraising, a lot of people especially in the minority communities see it an attack on the first black president and think it’s unfair.”
