Calif. School District Decides Learning about Diversity Is More Important Than Learning Geography
National Review ^ | 8/1/2014

Posted on 08/04/2014 3:09:18 AM PDT by Altura Ct.

El Rancho Verde Unified School District will stop requiring its high-school students to take geography and instead require them to take a class on diversity and inclusion.

ERUSD president Aurora Villon said the class is necessary because minority students “need to feel validated.”

“When you negate their culture, they feel less than other students,” she said in an e-mail to Whittier Daily News.

98 percent of the district’s students are Hispanic.

The class will “expose . . . . students to global perspectives and inclusion of diversity,” according to ERUSD vice president Jose Lara.

The district plans to have the program implemented by the 2015–16 school year.

Their culture is a family matter. This is America. Learn English and become productive. It’s why you left your country.....for that opportunity.

Nowadays, schools are for indoctrination instead of education.

From talking to twenty-somethings at the gym I’m astonished that many can’t name any president before Jimmy Carter. Most know nothing about WW2 or the political causes of anything you’d care to talk about. They know all about greenness and carbon footprints and polar-vortexes.

All these minorities have such inferiority complexes about their cultures is because its so freaking obvious their cultures are inferior. They look at all the US has accomplished and know they came from 3rd world pizz holes. No amount of touchy feely BS about how great Mexico is will hide the obvious truth. The only way to fix the problem is to turn the US into a comparable 3rd world pizz hole. But then they still wont be happy because building the worlds best taco doesnt compare well with putting a man on the moon (half a freaking century ago). That why its best for them to become Americans and be proud of that instead of the miserable place they left.

The “Great Melting Pot”

The reason millions of immigrants were successfully integrated into American society in early part of the last century was because school taught American History and American Culture.

The immigrants became American (not hyphenated Americans).

Today they are not even trying to integrate into our society.

This is absolutely amazing!

The American people have never understood that “diversity” means world-wide socialism. I don’t think they ever will.

Ok, I'm German and Italian and I'm feeling inferior because my culture had been negated. So are these new diversity courses going to include my culture too?

Interesting that “diversity” only celebrates and elevates certain ethnic groups, but not others.

Talk about horse manure!

minority students “need to feel validated.”

“When you negate their culture, they feel less than other students,”

Saul Alinsky would redefine "minority students" to include conservatives (we are a minority according to liberals, right?) and then hold them to their own standards and make them teach about "conservative culture".

So an American high school diploma is worth nothing, and an American college degree is worth what a high school diploma was worth.

“98 percent of the district’s students are Hispanic.”

Eh...what? Diversity? Are they going to learn all about that 2%?

I would think they would be better served by geography lessons. Lesson 1) Where is the southern border...cross it.

I thought they already did this like - uh - 50 years ago.
When I was in school in the 70’s there were “social studies” classes, but nary a Geography class to be found.

This is how you end up with a President that thinks there are 57 States in America.
We no longer educate children, we indoctrinate them into political ideologies..
Oh goody, they feel good about themselves when they graduate. To bad they can not read and write and do simple math.........

If their culture is so awesome, why are they here? Their culture breeds the very problems they ran away from. Bet they won’t bring those points up in Diversity 101.

The agenda is to destroy the fabric of America.

Destroy tradition and values and any meaningful learning that could result in INDEPENDENCE!!
