This Baptist Charity Is Being Paid Hundreds of Millions to Shelter Child Migrants

Contractors have taken on the huge task of sheltering thousands of unaccompanied child migrants

In the late afternoon of July 9, Air Force One touched down at Love Field in Dallas. President Barack Obama ducked into a private room at the airport for a discussion about the crisis of undocumented children crossing the southwest border. Assembled around a wooden table were top Texas officials, including Governor Rick Perry and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, as well as the leaders of several faith-based charities. One of them was a man so anonymous, the White House pool report misspelled his name.

Kevin Dinnin is the CEO of a faith-based, nonprofit organization called BCFS, formerly known as Baptist Child and Family Services. This obscure charity has emerged as one of the biggest players in the federal government’s response to the influx of more than 57,000 unaccompanied children who have trudged across the southern border so far this year. It runs two of the largest facilities for temporarily housing immigrant children, as well as six permanent shelters in California and Texas. Since December, BCFS has received more than $280 million in federal grants to operate these shelters, according to government records. On July 7, two days before Dinnin met Obama in Dallas, the Department of Health and Human Services awarded BCFS $190,707,505 in a single grant.

Obviously the faith this group is based on is the Almighty Dollar.....
They are taking taxpayers dollars to house illegal invaders of our Country that the vast majority of citizens want repatriated immediately. Shame on them!

Government paying is/equals government taxing. In my opinion taking away the taxes being ‘confiscated’ should be a prime/first priority to stop much of the actions being taken. The illegal immigration going on now is being financed by taxes which is the head of the snake.

All right, here’s the money shot for me:
“... Trevino suspects many of the youth came from evangelical homes ...”

Hey, Mr. Pastor dude. You seriously can’t tell the difference between Catholic and Protestant? There is no evangelical sect in Catholicism, that I’m aware of.

I got no problemos with Catholicism. They’re Christians the same as us.

It isn’t fair to say that at all!

1: Just because one christian company does a bad thing doesn’t mean all of them would.

2: Christians will provide shelter to the homeless wherever they come from. that is a FAR different thing than shielding them from the Government.

in the case of BCFS, the Government is paying them to hold theses illegal immigrants. So they should hold them and make sure they don’t run off.

While their at it, they should be sure to share with theses kids the word of God. Let Obama face the legal consequences of his refusal to just send theses runaway kids back to their parents where they belong.

It doesn’t matter, he should take the opportunity to share with them the word of God.

He should uses the Federal government’s Dime too, because they would piss off Obama whose already doing an immoral thing by keeping theses runaway kids here instead of sending them home to their parents.

When did Morris Dees become a Baptist?

This sounds like another of his money-grubbing operations.

Too much hate on this thread for me. Getting uncomfortable with lots of threads lately.

The fact is that the children and teenagers can’t be returned immediately, legally to Central American countries. You can’t just hold them at gunpoint until the legal process completes. Seems that some FReepers would just pull the trigger.

Thanks for your comment and I’m out of here.

THAT ^^ is it, exactly.

Meanwhile....who is stopping it?

Don’t blame the faith based agency whose mission is to help children and share the gospel.

Damn right I'll blame these money grubbing parasites. They are greedy POS. I could give a ____ about whatever religious motivations they claim to have. They are in it for the money and killing America.

Yes. The so-called “nonprofits” are ones of the worst offenders

Yes!!! Whether they claim to have religious motivations or not. They live on taxpayers money and contribute to destroying America at the same time. They enable this illegal alien invasion

You don’t let them cross our border to begin with. You force Mexico to deal w them.

The legal process only begins once they get into America. You make sure they do not

Where does it say they are affiliated with the Baptists, specifically the Southern Baptist Convention? They only use the word “Baptist” in their name.

That's my take too. A thin religious cover for what is a very profitable non profit..... Profitable in that all the top officers are getting paid and paid well.
And if they are a real religious organization they are still parasites and in it for the money. Sabotaging America and getting paid well to do it
They do not get a "religious exemption" from me

BTW, to further make the point, if they take money from the givernment they are precluded from certain speech.

No smack talk about homo’s, certain lifestyles and political issues.

Blaming the charities

I think you confuse charity with theft. The money being given out for this government charity effort is from taxes & or debt (future taxes). The secrecy of this whole 'humanitarian crisis' political operation stinks.

I can not recall when if ever that the American public was the last to know & after finding out was still kept in the dark about a humanitarian crisis. The 'religious' groups involved in this covert operation are at best unwittingly aiding & abetting Obama's lawless illegal alien trafficking and redistribution enterprise 'for the children' or at worst are intentionally politically and or financially benefiting from partnering with evil.

How right you are.

If they were doing the Lord’s work they would be doing it without millions of dollars of government extortion money!!! Might as well fire up some free abortion clinics while they’re at it. You know, to help those pregnant teens who hopped the border.

They are endangering the lives of Christians in this country needlessly (prostitution, pederasty, gang violence, disease, etc.). Take care of these people somewhere else, like 100 miles from their own borders.

“This is NOT Biblical. It violates God’s laws and commands.”

Okay, I am all for strict enforcement of the border laws; but which specific commands and laws of God is this non-profit organization breaking?
