The empirical evidence of an airborne Ebola Strain is overwhelming
Hat Tip GWP - Patrick Sawyer was the American businessman, who contracted Ebola while working in Liberia, then collapsed after he got off a plane to Nigeria and died July 25. He was the first patient in Nigeria with the Ebola virus. The Nigerian authorities have refused to release the names of other passengers on the plane with Mr. Sawyer, or notify the media of their status.

The act of spraying will send the virus flying off the suits and landing on anyone or anything nearby. It’s the same principal of washing raw chicken is now being reversed. They’re now telling us to not wash raw chicken as that will spred salmonela around your kitchen. The least amount of common sense told many not to believe the gov about that but it took all these years before they admitted they were wrong.
Just because monkeys got it that way doesn’t mean humans will.
agreed common sense and prudence rule the day until you know for certain what you are up against.
and even then if the virus genetics reassort in an individual with a similar pulmonary virus - natural selection will favor its spreading by air.
then its katy bar the door for everyone.
In pigs!! Repeat and try to understand....In pigs...
Also in monkeys..
Ebola Zaire does not act the same way in animals as it does in humans. It mutates. Animals immune systems are different. Some animals recover, some die...But the mutation is not dangerous to humans.
Further work needs to be done on this, but it is quite clear to me that the virus is a complicated nasty little bugger. It has several proteins that we have apparently identified. It needs much more study.
But going with what we know to be true. Now today...
. The Zaire strain in humans is not airborne. It is not airborne because it does not affect the respiratory system in humans.
The chances of a airborne infection are very, very low. Not zero...nobody will ever say that, but very low. that is how the flu is spread, and if that were the case, we would be seeing ebola everywhere.
monkeys and pigs are two of the sentinel animals for human virus transmission.
most if not all virus first arose in monkeys, pigs or birds before spreading to humans in that human virus laboratory they call China where they sleep with the pigs and eat the monkeys.
The administration seems to want us to accept Ebola like AIDs; that is, it’s not communicable unless you *cornhole* someone suffering from Ebola or share a needle with him.
In so many words.
But I think most of us probably think Ebola to be more contagious than AIDs, and it’s certainly more lethal.
Not true....You did not even have the decency to back your own implications with a quick simple quote from me.
I gave you fair and ample time to provide a quote to support your clear implications of hysteria, cowering in dire fear for the rest of eternity and on and on as you clearly implied, which you directed at me.
You couldn't quote it because the post did not exist and all that was fabricated in your own head. All because I told ya I trusted little of what government media reports, which make you become totally irrational causing you to babble out baseless comments.
Again, your comments to me implying all that were deceptive, misleading and reckless.
And now you're being evasive after a simple request to back up your own reckless baseless implications. This would also suggest and imply your other comments are likely dishonest or less than forthright here and elsewhere.
See tag line Mr. Pox.
Yep
maybe you all are unfamiliar on how humans contracted Ebola, influenza and most other contagious virus types.
They originated in pigs, monkeys, bats and birds AND MUTATED TO BE INFECTIOUS TO HUMANS.
IT REASSORTED ITS GENE POOL IN ANIMALS TO BE INFECTIVE TO HUMANS.
you guys need to read about SARS, Coronavirus, H1N1, H5N1, and marburg and Ebola they all cam from pigs, BUT THEY DIDN’T STAY THERE
you are comparing AIDS which is one of the longest developing and low mortality virus to Ebola one of the fastest acting and most deadly virus.
A very poor comparison.
SARS or Coronavirus and Ebola is a much more apt comparison.
“But the mutation is not dangerous to humans”
in fact, it is precisely the virus genetic mutation (or more precisely re-assortment) in animals which allow its transmission to humans.
From SARS coronavirus to novel animal and human coronaviruses

In 2003, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) caused one of the most devastating epidemics known to the developed world. There were two important lessons from this epidemic. Firstly, coronaviruses, in addition to influenza viruses, can cause severe and rapidly spreading human infections. Secondly, bats can serve as the origin and natural animal reservoir of deadly human viruses. Since then, researchers around the world, especially those in Asia where SARS-CoV was first identified, have turned their focus to find novel coronaviruses infecting humans, bats, and other animals. Two human coronaviruses, HCoV-HKU1 and HCoV-NL63, were identified shortly after the SARS-CoV epidemic as common causes of human respiratory tract infections. In 2012, a novel human coronavirus, now called Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), has emerged in the Middle East to cause fatal human infections in three continents.
Ebola seems to reside in bats. Bats go everywhere in West Africa...they get into homes, restaurants, even hospitals. The virus is in the guano.
Monkeys come into contact with it, but I see no evidence that they transmit the disease to man in the same form they got it from the bats. So it’s in the bats. Just as many other diseases are. Bats hang out in caves, other animals go into caves, including men, for all sorts of reasons, one might be salt.
But don’t conflict the animal strains found in monkeys, with it’s parent virus, Eblola Zaire which affects humans and is the cause of the ebola outbreaks in Africa in man only.
It does not affect the respiratory system in humans. The morphed Reston strain does that only in animals. And it’s not around right now. It’s only in labs..so you can’t legitimately attribute the animal characteristics to the human virus.
Aids has killed 36 million since 1981 and 1.6 million in 2012.
Ebola has killed about 1600 since 1976.
actually, the other human viruses that are Ebola like or have some of the same structural attributes, are viruses like measles.
I understand your point and the distinction between the two.
But the point I make without being an alarmist is that Ebola is a very bad communicator of virus because it kills its host too fast thereby limiting its spread.
But, it is a virus job to replicate itself and it has several methods to do that. One of them (the most dangerous) is re-assortment where it exchanges its genetic material with whatever virus are in the host body.
So an influenza may get more like Ebola or God forbid an Ebola may get more like influenza in which case we are screwed, blued and tatooed.
however AIDS has 50% mortality over a very long term 30 years?
while Ebola has an 80%+ mortality over one month.
just not comparison I would ever make to prove a point.
According to what I have read in some science journals, Ebola has a difficult time mutating. It's mutations must fit within the enclosure that Ebola has. Thus it is limited to those mutations that do.
For this reason and other reasons that affect it's ability to spread among humans, it has stayed in West Africa since we discovered it in 1976.
AIDs is just getting started and Ebola, even more so.
Ebola will make AIDs look like a 72 hour flu once it mutates into that perfect predator, the ‘Great White’ strain.
The only ‘cure’ will be a resilient, strong patient and 24 hour ICS-quality care, but the healthy will be stepping over the stricken lying on stretchers in the hallways.
Have a nice day.
yeah that would be another very bad re-assortment of Ebola genetics with measles.
only possible good thing is some have fair immunity to measles
You can’t argue with the mortality stats.
One is telling you that the virus has a very high mortality rate.
The other is telling you that even given the high mortality rate, the virus is doing very little damage to the populations where it currently resides. Even though the density is pretty high and the medical care is primitive, temporary NGO funded or they simply reject it and refuse to use it..
