$450K over 5 years? Looks like climate discombobulation isn't that big of a problem for the native Americans if the govt is only going to pony up this drop in the bucket. Either that or the govt doesn't think it's worth spending anymore on "mere" indians. Sayyyyy................ Wouldn't that be racis'?

“traditional practices for hunting, fishing, and gathering for ceremonial purposes"

So it isn't about sustainability, it's about continuing the shuck and jive rituals.

So what exactly is the defintion of “climate change”? The next ice age will arrive before we get an answer to that.

Nothing gets the environmentalists’ ire up like Native Americans wanting to live well. This money will be used to try to get those on the reservations to give up things like dishwashers and central a/c and plant little bitty gardens to eat corn out of.

Can our taxpayers be tapped for cash to support their religious “ceremonies”?

That’s what the ceremonies are, their religion.

Where is the ACLU?

Where is the Freedom From Religion organization who just got the IRS to look into churches politicking (even though it does not affect FFR, how do they even have legal standing, how are they HARMED)?

Where is Citizens United For A Separation of Church And State?

That wouldn’t even be $1 per year, per Injun.

Why didn’t owebama just insult them with an offer of beads and trinkets?

A lot of Native Americans are doing very well with their newest method of scalping whitey via their casinos.

They are taking those scalps and converting them to fast cash loans and lately into mortgages.

Hopefully, they will continue to be successful and eventually scalp the mob’s casino bosses in Nevada and get Harry Reid fired for helping to ruin our economy and leaving less money to gamble.

Maybe, the “Native Americans” at the casino in Petoskey,Mi. can turn down the thermostat on the HVAC system at their
Cash-Cow to combat Glo-Bull Warming for their cash-strapped
customers with the money they receive from Obamao.

There is no “Change” to adapt to!

This is simple vote buying.

Climate changes, and that's a fact; but homo sapiens has little to nothing to do with it. The dire warnings about "climate change" give the statists an excuse to control human activity.

Amazing how they can use BS excuses like this just so people can rip off taxpayers. Hey, tax money is infinite money! Just like an infinite ATM! Take out all you like, it will never run out! Oh but that $17 trillion dollar deficit? Oh just ignore that, move it along nothing to see here!

This type of spending is such a good example of what is wrong with the modern administrative Welfare State. It just creaks along, rolling out new silly, useless spending programs for the sake of spending. There is some bureaucrat somewhere whose job depends on finding a way to spend $450,000 so he puts this nonsense program together. There probably are a bunch of Indian “environmental consultants” or consultants who somehow achieved “Indian” status who are politically connected who are going to get the money.

This spending really has nothing to do with climate change. Its the same as the spending to teach male prostitutes to avoid HIV or the Cowboy Museum or the grants to teach kids about self esteem. They are useless spending for the sake of spending. They each are small amounts but add up to huge amounts and contribute to the deficit. Until we wholesale eliminate departments, this nonsense will continue.

My gosh, we better make sure they have fluffy pillows and soft beds too!
