Christ based addiction programs have very high success rates. Of course no liberal like Williams would believe in such nonsense.

Pray America wakes up

Are you a doctor? Are you someone who has recovered from an alcohol or drug addiction? If you’re not I’m not interested in talking to you because from what I can tell you haven’t a clue as to what you’re talking about.

Bill was a great guy. Actually the secret to AA’s success(and Bills) was Lois.

Jesus didn’t have a problem with alcohol. When we humans do we need the help of our fellows.

I was thinking that, I thought maybe I misinterpreted his words, but it certainly sounded like he was spouting nonsense, out of ignorance.

I think what AA does so supremely well - for them - is fully indoctrinate folks - people with an alcohol problem - that they are so weak themselves, that alcohol is so much stronger than their own will, that they’ll need AA forever.

The truth - there are millions of former alcoholics that NEVER went to AA or anything like it, and remain sober. Wait a minute, that - the truth - is impossible, because according to AA alcoholism is an illness that the alcoholic left alone cannot keep under control by themself!!!!; that they can NEVER have a drink without “falling off the wagon” and needing to crawl back to AA!! Yet, MILLIONS have done it - without AA or anything like it.

So what is the first accomplishment of AA - convincing someone dealing with alcohol that they are weaker than the alcohol, and always will be, that they are so weak of will that they must have an AA to help them. So, the first success of AA is using someones feeling of weakness against alcohol to convince them that is a permanent condition they can never change (but it’s O.K., it’s not their fault). Their first success is the further destruction of the persons will, continuing what the person thinks the alcohol has started and declaring it a fait a compli they cannot change. It works so well, that the AA knows the “I’m too weak” meme will prevail and even if they slip up they’ll go crawling back to the AA.

What a racket.

If someone - like AA - has convinced you that you are a so weak and that a drug or alcohol will always be stronger than you, then nothing anyone else tells you will likely change your view of it.

The mental key to all addictions is that an addiction is seen as always looming massively large in the mind, to the addict, convincing the addict it is always stronger than they are, until, and unless, the person realizes THEY ARE THE ONES WHO MAKE it so massively large in their mind and they can unmake it if they want to, if they only just use their will to do so.

When does an addict really quit? When they realize they are the ones in control and they can chose to change, for once and for good.

It is an AA myth that no one ever stops being an alcoholic, for good, without an AA to “help them”. Millions do.

AA never says we stop being alcoholic. There is a difference between a sober alcoholic and and active one. And I’m not weak you twit and AA doesn’t peddle that notion. What we are is powerless over alcohol. Now piss off, I’m done talking to you you wanker.

“{Alcoholics Anonymous is the single most successful alcoholic recovery group on Earth. “

You are an alcoholic if you still need to go to support groups to be talked out of drinking.

One of the biggest, most fundamental misunderstandings about alcoholism is that the alcoholic has a weak will. Alcoholics have powerful wills; the problem is that the natural inclination of an alcoholic's will is to get drunk, and there is very little that will stop them from doing so. It's why incarcerated alcoholics ferment fruit in their prison toilets. It's why native Americans will mix kool aid with Lysol. It's why Russian soldiers would put shoe polish on a slice of bread and set it out in the sun or drink de-icing fluid out of their aircraft.

In my experience, as a recovering alcoholic, sobriety is achieved only when one becomes fully willing to subordinate personal will to God's will, and thank God there is a program that allows me to share the experience, strength and hope of other alcoholics in having done so.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I know what has been successful in my life, and has indeed, saved my life.
