There they go again.
The New York Times Book Review, which has a history of belatedly recognizing conservative bestsellers, has banished conservative legal author David Limbaughs latest, Jesus on Trial, from its upcoming best seller list despite having sales better than 17 other books on the list.
According to publishing sources, Limbaughs probe into the accuracy of the Bible sold 9,660 in its first week out, according to Nielsen BookScan. That should have made it No. 4 on the NYT print hardcover sales list.
Instead, Henry Kissingers World Order, praised by Hillary Clinton in the Washington Post, is No. 4 despite weekly sales of 6,607.
As Secrets wrote about a similar banishment early in the sales of conservative Dinesh DSouzas America, the Gray Lady is mysterious in how it calculates its list. A spokeswoman said, We let the rankings speak for themselves and are confident they are accurate.
The September 28 list of the top 20 print hardcover best sellers includes one book that sold just 1,570 copies.
Limbaugh, published by Regnery, has been a New York Times best seller, so the newspaper should have been looking out for his high sales numbers. And as a hint, they could have looked at Amazon, where Limbaughs Jesus hit No. 1 recently. On Thursday, it ranked No. 6 in books sold on Amazon.
THe dirty little secret here is that most libraries will refuse to add a book to their collection that is not reviewed by the NYT Book Review.
We let the rankings speak for themselves and are confident they are accurate.
Translation: We lie about the rankings and do not care whether they are accurate. It is more important that they reflect our ideology.
Proper response: The let the rankings speak to themselves because we know the NY Times lies about everything.
The NYT. The truth is not there. The only problem with siding with Satan is that the truth is not in him.
Do libraries matter?
Barnes and Noble refused to post Dinesh D’Souza’s most recent book among the NYT best sellers, even though it was at #1 for weeks. Meanwhile, they still push that failed, Dollar Store-bound piece of crap by Hillary.
One more reason the New York Times isn't trusted...
If I were a conservative writer I would antagonize the NYT until they banned my book.....it will do more for his sales than any TV ad!!!
That’s okay, I’ve banned the NYT for quite a while now.
They buy a lot of books at top dollar, and they influence what a lot of people read.
Most accurate descriptive post. Also, once again, the NY SLIMES have validated my most brilliant tagline.
If I had a dollar for each time they’ve done just that, I’d be rich.
To them a FREE PRESS means they are free of the obligation to tell and print the truth.
Off to order the Limbaugh book.
Good read. In it now. Affirmation that my Christian beliefs and Faith are True.
NYT and Barnes & Noble, two reasons why Amazon book sales are booming. Amazon crushes them combined.
