Well, if militant vegetarians/vegans could have their way, it would no doubt have a huge effect on population. If malnourished mothers carry children to term, those children would have permanent cognitive deficits, leading to a decrease in the average population IQ. Many of the children will not survive to term. I do not think it would be possible to force vegetarianism on a population, though. People would use whatever means possible to get protein—there would be black-market meat.

Given the fact that you didn’t bother to read ANY of the info cited on this thread, and yet comment on the subject of this thread doesn’t say much about your foot stomping tantrum.

Really? What would your reaction be on an article titled "Red meat and pork can cause serious harm, says Michelle Obama" ? Hmmm? Yet "Swiss officials interfering in the lives of citizens, appears to be fine with you and most other on this thread

It is no tantrum. I am simply pointing out that you are still relying on government propaganda and interference to make your per-conceived opinion of a point. I already know the "info", BTW. It is all nonsense. Veganism, for lack of a better term, if perfectly fine and has many health benefits. Of course you wont hear the "info", which is fine, but don't hand me "Swiss officials say" BS.

Consider Pottenger's cats.

The cats eating cooked food had a significant nutritional deficiency. (Now thought to be taurine - an amino acid that cats can't synthesize, and is destroyed by heat).

The critical point isn't that cats need taurine, but that nutritional deficiencies were cumulative across generations:

  • By the end of the first generation the cats started to develop degenerative diseases and became quite lazy.[citation needed]*By the end of the second generation, the cats had developed degenerative diseases by mid-life and started losing their coordination.
  • By the end of the third generation the cats had developed degenerative diseases very early in life and some were born blind and weak and had a much shorter life span. Many of the third generation cats couldn't even produce offspring. There was an abundance of parasites and vermin while skin diseases and allergies increased from an incidence of five percent in normal cats to over 90 percent in the third generation of deficient cats. Kittens of the third generation did not survive six months. Bones became soft and pliable and the cats suffered from adverse personality changes. Males became docile while females became more aggressive.[citation needed] The cats suffered from most of the degenerative diseases encountered in human medicine and died out totally by the fourth generation.[citation

This is exactly what is going on with us, and why we're seeing "adult onset" diabetes showing up in six-year-olds.

The Standard American Diet is bad enough that nearly anything is better, and anyone who goes on a vegan diet will feel better, for three-to-five years, until the dietary deficiencies start to manifest.

My usual response, when someone tells me that they're a vegan, is "I'm sorry to hear that. Do you have acid reflux, yet?"

The smart ones will move to a more paleo approach before they get into too much trouble.

“BTW. It is all nonsense. Veganism, for lack of a better term, if perfectly fine and has many health benefits.”

Now we see the motivation behind your tantrum. Naturally you’re too lazy to read the info. under the guise of “I already know it”.

Your foot stomping screed is all nonsense.

>> Turned out that there were enough insects in the wheat flour, in India, to prevent deficiency disease.

Interesting. Thanks!

Seriously, a very interesting post. I agree with you.
