FBI Blasts Apple, Google Phone Encryption: It "Allows People To Be Beyond The Law""
Zero Hedge ^ | 09/27/14 | Tyler Durden

The kings men also viewed their power as necessary as Comey does today. They could simply enter someone’s home and search all your papers. If you wrote anything derogatory against the king, off you went to prison. This is what inspired the American Revolution and the Fourth Amendment that there had to be a reason to search not just arbitrary desire to want to know and lets see what we can find as the NSA and FBI do today. This is the very essence of LIBERTY. You cannot pretend to be the leader of the free world with people like Comey in government.

How dare they! Don't they know that only government employees and politicians are above the law?

The proper retort to the FBI mouthpiece should have been: “We just want laws enforced according to the Constitution.”

Actually, he lied.

Apple and Google have not circumvented the law nor in any way prevented legal investigation.

All the FBI or any other law enforcement agency has to do is go to a judge and give the judge the facts needed to get a warrant.

If the person against whom the warrant is served does not then supply the requested emails, the judge can punish him.

Unless of course that person is Lois Lerner or Eric Holder.

And therein lies our real problem with people who flout the law.

Yeah, Comey, apparently in your world only federal agents are allowed to be “beyond the law” and the Constitution.

If you want to search someone’s phone, get a warrant.

Until they go after lerner and holder they are worthless and untrustworthy. Crimminals are libelled by calling them crooks.

If you think about it. This is the FBI is admitting they have broken federal laws in order to enforce other laws.

Furthermore, it means they have committed perjury when asked how they gathered the evidence, under oath in a court of law over and over again. Thus, making a mockery of our laws, our Judaical Branch and the U.S. Constitution.

As we learned in 1947 Nuremberg Court the defense of “I was just following orders” is simply no excuse.

It "Allows People To Be Beyond The Law"

When do they come down on Microsoft for making software that allows people to delete their email?

Why, Apple and Google’s behavior wouldn’t have been beyond the law before the Obama Admin, now would they? This Admin is simply out of control. Get out of our business, Obama et al!

Excellent point. At the very least civil lawsuits need to be filed.

I’m thinking once they begin, oh and you can expect IT WILL happen, then you will see the flood gates wide open.

This is what the FBI, Apple and Google want us to think. It gives us a false sense of security and is good for business.

That’s probably true too. However, this is a double edge sword. Please read post #9.

Finally it could inspire other companies to do just this.

Same here. It must be thoroughly corrupted from top to bottom. It seems that there are no more good guys. If there are any good guys they must have been threatened and are just doing time until they can retire.

imagine if in 1980 the FBI going around shocked, angry and apoplectic that any person able to buy an envelope would actually use one.

what this FBI reaction tells us is that they have become extravagantly used to the notion of reading anyone’s email fully and at any time and for almost zero cost.

They are privacy invasion junkies.
