It’s true. There is a dearth of African American High Tech workers, from entry level technician to Principle Engineers, 30 years and I can only remember seeing three and two of them were actually very dark skinned Sik Indians.
Reason is probably because our base public educational system plays to and enables African American victimization.
I can still remember a conversation between my friend, who had just graduated with a BS in Materials Engineering, and a woman who had just graduated with an MA in sociology, or something similar.
She was shocked --shocked!-- that he was earning more than she was.

The wage differential that exists for women is almost totally explained by research done decades ago, but the MSM doesn’t want to read it because they want to perpetuate the myth. You can read work by Herb Parnes, Belton Fliesher, and others that shows market forces work against women (e.g., looser attachment to the labor force because of child rearing, picking fields that are already crowded with women (education), etc.). In some cases (Western Electric’s old phone assembly plant), however, women were paid more than men.
Not any kind of problem -- in a free country.
Do these idiots know how many silicon valley companies are run by asians and women? And they have many asians and women working for them? Or maybe asians are no longer considered minorities because they’re so successful?

I worked in the Silicon Valley for twenty years, as an engineer running materials organizations. The Asians and Indians were core people in the businesses in which I worked. They were, for the most part, avid technologists for whom technological success was their primary reward, and they were very well educated. And FWIW, there were a number of them who were women. When I was at UC Berkeley, there were almost no women getting a technical education (and the few there were were mostly non-white but not black), but that was in the 1960’s so maybe now it’s different. Any number of guys I worked with went on to found their own high-tech companies. A couple of them have become multi-millionaires, and that is the path that most of the companies in high-tech were founded. You can’t bring in a HUMBA (Harvard MBA) into that kind of environment and expect success. These aren’t used car operations.

Good point-why, if they believe they deserve more representation, do they never start their own companies rather than waiting until some white man has worked and sacrificed for years to build one, and then demand to glom onto it? It’s not as if they don’t get special minority business loans and grants to do so.

Exactly. It takes more than just intelligence, it takes a certain kind of intelligence, a creative forward-thinking kind (and I’m not speaking in marketing terms).
You never hear liberals complains about “lack of diversity” when it comes to black gangs.
Much easier to demand that white folks include minorities in any corporation, or nation founded and built by old white men.
And, of course, Obama's idiotic, "somebody else made that happen" is a an idiotic attempt to justify the affirmative action requirements that things created and built by old white men must be 'inclusive'.
