Enteroviruses commonly circulate in the U.S. during summer and fall. EV-D68 was first identified in California in 1962. Over the past thirty years, only small numbers were reported in the U.S.
The CDC hasn’t suggested reasons for the current uptick or its origin. Without that answer, some question whether the disease is being spread by the presence of tens of thousands of illegal immigrant children from Central America admitted to the U.S. in the past year.
The origin could be entirely unrelated.
However, a study published in Virology Journal, found EV-D68 among some of the 3,375 young, ill people tested in eight Latin American countries, including the Central American nations of El Salvador and Nicaragua, in 2013. (See Fig. 3)
Though the U.S. government is keeping secret the locations of the illegal immigrant children, there are significant numbers of them in both cities in which the current outbreak was first identified, Kansas City, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois, according to local advocates and press reports.

None of them have kids or grandchildren? Or do they think they are protected because none of their kids go to government schools? This is insane!
That’s what I keep wondering. Do they really think they are complete protected from these horrible diseases? They really should read “Masque of Red Death”. I am no fan of Poe and haven’t read it for decades, but IIRC, the message is that even the wealthy cannot escape.

Nothing to worry about, this one is just as impossible to catch as Ebola is. Besides, team Obama is on the case, so there’s nothing to worry about.
According to FoxNews this morning, this EV-D68 has shown up in about 40 states.
Ironically, the spread seems to coincide with the early summer reports we first got about the children invaders and the start of school.
How many posts have we seen of schools in various states having massive financial and facility problems due to significant increases in the numbers of new students?
I call it “O’Malley-Gomez Virus,” in honor of Cardinal Sean O’Malley of Boston and Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, the two loudest proponents of open borders in the Catholic hierarchy. Of course, besides letting in the O’Malley-Gomez Virus, open borders will achieve their other goal of destroying the pro-life movement, since 70% of “immigrants” vote pro-abortion.

I like that. The disease should be named after these two jerks.
I would be scared if I had kids in a government school today. Who knows what kinds of diseases are being brought into the schools by the illegals.

Amen to that, but I want to hear from other politicians. Why are they not doing anything to stop this? I’ve called my representative to let him know how ticked off I am about this.
