In violation of debate rules agreed to by both political campaigns, the ideologically-fluid Charlie Crist had his podium modified with a foreign object in order to keep him more comfortable at the beginning of the Florida gubernatorial debate, causing a delay until both sides could come to a resolution.
The Scott campaign eventually acquiesced to Crist's "request" that the debate rules be changed in order for Crist's comfort. The Crist campaign, for their part, maintains that they always requested a modification to the rules - but it's a modification clearly unseen and not agreed to by the Scott campaign.

It makes me nervous. I think Crist won the election tonight. It was so painful but the way that Scott made a big deal over the fan was a bit overboard. The moderators were absolutely beside themselves not knowing what to do. It was a painful 4 minutes.

Did you hear the audience? The place was packed with democrats! Gov. Scott couldn’t have won there, the way the moderators and the audience behaved.
IIRC, I remember something about this from his last campaign. He has a fan everywhere he goes. I seem to think it is because if he sweats his fake tan starts to come off. I am not joking about this. I don’t live in FL, but it was a big joke on his last campaign also.

I don’t care. The Orange Guy (Charlie Crist) loves Obama, wants to bring the high-speed rail boondoggle to Florida, wants to give Florida a state income tax, and wants to tax the internet. Lord Voldemort (Rick Scott) has cut property taxes and has assured many small businesses in this state that they will not be driven out of business due to excessive taxes and regulations. Florida’s economy is growing because his policies have convinced a lot of businesses from up north to relocate here. I’m voting for Rick Scott. Also known as “The Undertaker”, solely because of what he looks like.
What would the problem be with the guy using a fan? Instead, this is what happens. Liberals are so juvenile and retarded that this fan idiocy will pass as a rallying cry for the sheeple. It could have been a pencil. It could have been the positioning of the lectern. They will, and apparently can, use anything to whip the humanoids into shape.
What? Am I missing something? What “foreign object”? Townhall just left us hanging. That’s lousy journalism.

OK, I watched the video. It was a “fan” under Crist’s podium. I think it hurt Gov. Scott by him refusing to come on stage. I loathe Charlie Crist, but, that was very petty of Scott.
