There’s nothing political about calling homosexual behavior a sin from the pulpit. More pastors should try it.

Must have been an old can of woop-ass.
It's backfiring all over the mayor.

Theres nothing political about calling homosexual behavior a sin from the pulpit. More pastors should try it. Politicizing everything is another semantics dance to empower a govt group to have legal recourse and control over another group or person.
If you can't get your way legally, change the meaning of the words so you gain legality. It's the quick end-run around legislation and that whole slow-boat way of doing things.

I like Abbott.
Like the others are saying, majority of liberals only tolerate those who they agree with.

This notion that's peddled by the religious right - that they are oppressed is not true. Sometimes it's a cynical ploy to move their agenda ahead. The classic example being that somehow secularists are trying to eliminate Christmas, which strikes me as some kind of manufactured controversy.

The mayor and city council of Houston are elected every other year, on odd-numbered years. It sounds to me as if it is time for the next city council and mayoral election campaign season to begin.
Whether they shoot for 100% replacement or to just replace the homofascists is up to them.

Sounds like Houston’s mayor has given Abbot an additional campaign issue he can use to his great advantage.

OK. Lets have a look at that tax-exempt status for so-called ‘black churches’ who host Reverend Al and JJ and their political friends, shall we?

Funny, haha, that no one in the media really goes out on that limb to state that Mayor Annise “Porker” Parker is a flaming lesbian...Something that is fairly common knowledge (in the Houston area), but not really known or talked about outside the city limits...
But when you get right down to it, no one really cares anymore...
I’m kinda shocked she and her homosexual minions took this issue this far...What a wonderful backlash they produced...

You don’t understand Houston voters: most are socialists; the others, hard liberals. Not much difference

Actually, if you look at the last election....over the whole county....it’s divided almost 50-50. And from the fifty-percent democrat....a quarter of them are Latinos who frequent local churches. In this case, the mayor really got blitzed by some insider to her crew and bought into the bathroom argument, which started this whole argument. They need to find an exit strategy real quick or face big losses in the next city election.
