But what have politically correct North American governments done? They’ve hemmed and hawed, and blathered out excuses about why a ban would only make things worse.
I am not particularly worried about the spread of Ebola in North America – a little, not a lot. But choosing political correctness over public health – even choosing PC over health workers’ health – is asinine, ridiculous and even arrogant.
The worst fumbling, mealy mouthed arguments against a travel ban to the U.S. and Canada have come from Thomas Frieden, the head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Frieden, the man behind former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s attempts to ban large soft drinks, outdoor smoking, trans fats and menus without nutrition labelling, was appointed head of the CDC in 2009 by U.S. President Barack Obama.
Frieden has said a ban is undesirable because it wouldn’t be 100% effective. That makes about as much sense as saying that because condoms are only about 96% effective in preventing sexually transmitted diseases, people should feel free to have as much unprotected sex as they please.

Too many are letting their normalcy bias keep them from understanding this.
They do. But, you don't have to put it into isolation, if the pet meets certain criteria:
http://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/files/2013/01/aqs-checklist-5DOL.pdf
If the criteria isn't met, the pet can be subject to quarantined up to 120 days.
However, if you read the criteria, #1 is a rabies vaccination at least twice in the pet's lifetime, and the last one within 90 days. There's no vaccination for Ebola.
Obama owns this miserable failure.

Obama has most definitely not failed. The goal of the Soros Administration is to “fundamentally transform” the country, remember?
Creating chaos, importing disease and corruption, and dismantling civil society are all succeeding wildly. The ultimate goal of turning our republic into a socialist dictatorship is clearly in sight for the leftists.
So Obamugabe is achieving great success.
Apparently the GOP is too chicken to even chime in. Selling the idea of a travel ban or weeklong medical quarantine upon return is a no brainer. Just use the left playbook. And make customs certify via passport that there was no travel to infected areas. The commercial goes like this:
“The Obama administration doesn’t care and is putting your children at risk. They are profiting from free travel just to keep their special interests and billionaire donors happy. A travel ban or better medical precautions will save lives and keep children safe. How many children must die a painful miserable death from ebola for them to take this seriously?......”
To me, forcing these people to 'unquestioningly prove health' by surviving 30 days outside our borders seems the next best alternative to and outright complete ban which is what should happen in my opinion.
This is disgusting. If my son were of age now, I’d counsel him against joining the military to be fodder at the whim of Obama.
Apparently? It’s more that apparent. It’s a FACT.
Why not, I do.
“Hey Obama, be a MAN - Implement a travel BAN!”
Hey Obama, be a MAN - Implement a travel BAN!!
According to an article yesterday, he is planning to bring more infected non-Americans here for treatment.

Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Thanks for the ping!
You are (as always!) most welcome, Alamo-Girl!
